Alzheimer's disease (AD), which is marked by gradual neuronal decline and subsequent loss of cognitive functions and memory, poses significant treatment challenges. The present study involved the development, , and evaluation of a novel intranasal mucoadhesive in-situ gel of vinpocetine (VIN) with the aim to target the brain. An innovative gel formulation composed of poloxamer 407, HPMC E15 LV, and citric acid as a solubilizer was developed by 2 Factorial Design.

Article Synopsis
  • The study analyzes self-rated health (SRH) among exclusive e-cigarette users and traditional cigarette smokers, using data from the Health Survey for England 2019, focusing on a refined sample of 274 e-cigarette users and 1,017 cigarette smokers.
  • Results show that exclusive e-cigarette users are more likely to report good health compared to traditional cigarette smokers, with an odds ratio of 1.59, indicating a significant health perception difference.
  • Additional analysis with a broader range of health categories confirmed e-cigarette users consistently reported better health outcomes, reinforcing the notion that they perceive their health more positively than smokers.

This study assessed the consequence of exposure to a pyrethroid insecticide, fenpropathrin (FPN), on the heart and the probable underlying mechanisms in rats. Moreover, the probable protective effect of curcumin-loaded chitosan nanoparticles (CMN-CNP) was evaluated. Forty male Sprague Dawley rats were distributed into four groups orally given corn oil, CMN-CNP (50 mg/kg b.

Hyperglycemia induces an excessive production of superoxide by the mitochondria's electron-transport chain triggers several pathways of injury contributing to the development of diabetic complications. This increase in oxidative and nitrosative stress triggers the activation of PARP-1, a nuclear enzyme, through mechanisms such as DNA damage. siRNA-chitosan nanoparticles were formed based on electrostatic interaction, their particle size, zeta potential, STEM, and cellular uptake were characterized.

Objective: This study was designed to determine the comparative efficacy of Doxofylline (DOXO) compared to low-dose theophylline (LDT) in treating corticosteroid-resistant asthma.

Methods: This study was conducted on 56 adult BALB/C mice aged six to eight weeks old with an average weight of 20-25 g. They were divided into seven groups: control group, ovalbumin (OVA)+lipopolysaccharide (LPS) group, OVA+LPS+dexamethasone (DEXA) group, OVA+LPS+LDT group, OVA+LPS+ group, OVA+LPS+DEXA+LDT group, and OVA +LPS+DEXA+DOXO group.

Urine-derived stem cells (USCs) have gained the attention of researchers in the biomedical field in the past few years . Regarding the several varieties of cells that have been used for this purpose, USCs have demonstrated mesenchymal stem cell-like properties, such as differentiation and immunomodulation. Furthermore, they could be differentiated into several lineages.

Seeking an alternative approach for detecting adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in coronavirus patients (COVID-19) and enhancing drug safety, a retrospective study of six months was conducted utilizing an electronic medical record (EMR) database to detect ADRs in hospitalized patients for COVID-19, using "ADR prompt indicators" (APIs). Consequently, confirmed ADRs were subjected to multifaceted analyses, such as demographic attribution, relationship with specific drugs and implication for organs and systems of the body, incidence rate, type, severity, and preventability of ADR. The incidence rate of ADRs is 37%, the predisposition of organs and systems to ADR is observed remarkably in the hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal systems at 41.
