Background: An injury to the brain affects a person in some or all cognitive, emotional, behavioural and physical domains impacting quality of life. Quality of life is essential to well-being and optimum functioning of a person in daily life. It is influenced by various individual and social aspects like physical, psychological, social relationships and environment.

Granulocyte transfusion is used to manage refractory infections in patients with severe neutropenia. One of the main challenges in providing granulocyte products is the availability of a suitable donor. This study was designed to analyse deferral patterns to appropriately create a pool of granulocyte donors.

Typically, patients who do not respond to conservative management undergo an epididymectomy; however, the literature on its efficacy is also scarce, with success rates varying from 10-90%. Our goal was to better describe the etiology and natural history of isolated epididymal pain and to describe the rates of success associated with epididymectomy.

Though there have been advances, urology has remained overwhelmingly male-dominant, with slow growth in female recruitment. This survey study evaluated whether gender-related differences in the perception of urology are present among future applicants that could account for gender disparity seen in recruitment.

To the best of our knowledge, we successfully produced multiple clones and a re-clone of an earlier cloned buffalo bull from an embryo developed from an adult bull's skin-derived cell for the first time. The cloned bulls' growth, blood hematology, plasma biochemistry, and telomere length were all shown to be normal at various stages of development.

Here, by taking advantage of the ear's exocrine sweat glands, we describe an in-ear integrated array of electrochemical and electrophysiological sensors placed on a flexible substrate surrounding a user-generic earphone for the simultaneous monitoring of lactate concentration and brain states via electroencephalography, electrooculography and electrodermal activity. In volunteers performing an acute bout of exercise, the device detected elevated lactate levels in sweat concurrently with the modulation of brain activity across all electroencephalography frequency bands.

Design: Total nucleic acids (TNA) were extracted from subgingival biofilm samples using an automated process. RNA, DNA and Locked Nucleic Acid (LNA) digoxigenin-labeled oligonucleotide probes targeting 5 cultivated/named species and 16 uncultivated or unnamed bacterial taxa were synthesized.
Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) are fluorescent carbon nanomaterials with unique optical and structural properties that have drawn extensive attention from researchers in the past few decades. Environmental friendliness, biocompatibility and cost effectiveness of CQDs have made them very renowned in countless applications including solar cells, white light-emitting diodes, bio-imaging, chemical sensing, drug delivery, environmental monitoring, electrocatalysis, photocatalysis and other related areas. This review is explicitly dedicated to the stability of CQDs under different ambient conditions.

Management of ILD also requires thorough follow-up with computed tomography (CT) studies and lung function tests to assess disease progression, severity, and response to treatment. However, accurate classification of ILD subtypes can be challenging, especially for those not accustomed to reading chest CTs regularly.

In this study, we aimed to produce myostatin () gene-edited embryos of the Murrah buffalo using the CRISPR/Cas9 system and SCNT. For this, fibroblast cells were electroporated with sgRNAs carrying all-in-one CRISPR/Cas9 plasmids targeting the first exon of the gene.

However, interreader variation may exist due to varying levels of training and expertise. This study aims to evaluate interreader variation and the role of thoracic radiology training in classifying interstitial lung disease (ILD).

Due to the nature of the device and its location, infections associated with SCS have a particularly high morbidity. According to post-market data and medical device reports, 87% of patients receiving SCS implants were given perioperative antibiotics as the implantable neurostimulator or receiver pocket serve as the most common sites of infection.
