Background: The rubella virus is a major contributor to birth defects globally and is preventable by vaccination. In 2020, the world was supposed to be free of both rubella and Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS) however this goal has yet to be realized with only 93 out of 194 WHO member states confirmed rubella-free in 2020.
Methods: A retrospective measles and rubella case-based surveillance data record review was conducted from 2018 to 2022 to document rubella epidemiology after the introduction of rubella vaccination in Lesotho and progress toward elimination.
Childbirth complications, which may include maternal and perinatal mortality are common among women giving birth at home compared to those giving birth at health care facilities. Increasing access to childbirth in health care facilities improves the maternal and perinatal health outcomes for both the mother and child. There are however reported cases of home childbirth and decreasing numbers of health care facilities' births in developing countries.

Teenage pregnancy occurring in girls aged 10-19 years remains a serious worldwide health problem. Stillbirths and newborn deaths are 50% higher among infants born to adolescent mothers than among those born to mothers aged 20-29 years, which contributes to the increased deliveries of newborn babies among females aged 10 to 19 years. The aim of the study was to gain understanding of the views of teenagers towards teenage pregnancy in the Capricorn district, Limpopo province.

Prevention of mother-to-child transmission was introduced in all the regions of Ghana, but mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) continued to increase.
