Thirteen standardized reasons for e-visits were implemented in March 2024 on a French telemedicine platform to improve the analysis of needs in telemedicine, educate patients on what is possible in e-visit and adapt the offer. Patients could select 1 to 3 reasons for consultations among a list of 13 reasons. Our aim was to evaluate their impact on use of e-visits.

The known I^{π}=8_{1}^{+}, E_{x}=2129-keV isomer in the semimagic nucleus ^{130}Cd_{82} was populated in the projectile fission of a ^{238}U beam at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory at RIKEN. The high counting statistics of the accumulated data allowed us to determine the excitation energy, E_{x}=2001.2(7)  keV, and half-life, T_{1/2}=57(3)  ns, of the I^{π}=6_{1}^{+} state based on γγ coincidence information.

Article Synopsis
  • Standard care for non-metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the anus involves chemoradiotherapy, but there's limited data on how elderly patients (≥75 years) respond compared to younger patients (<75 years).
  • A study analyzed 1015 patients from the FFCD-ANABASE cohort; 202 were elderly, revealing that they had different demographics and treatment characteristics but similar outcomes (overall survival, recurrence-free survival, and colostomy-free survival) to younger patients.
  • The results suggest that age does not significantly affect treatment outcomes for non-metastatic SCCA, indicating that elderly patients should receive optimal curative treatment similar to younger patients.

The national teleconsultation platform Qare offers a promising tool to collect data in primary care by sharing the same EHR among teleconsultants. Conclusions for every teleconsultation are thus collected by a text using an ICD10 code or not. Nevertheless, the use of the ICD10 classification by primary care doctors is scarce.

Background: In hormone-sensitive oligorecurrent prostate cancer (PC), the literature showed [68Ga]Ga-PSMA (PSMA) and [18F]F-choline (FCH) PET/CT can successfully guide metastasis-directed therapies (MDT). This observational retrospective study aimed to explore, in routine use, the impact of FCH or PSMA PET/CT in guiding MDT for hormone-sensitive oligometastatic PC at different recurrences.

Methods: In 2017-2020, patients initially treated with radical prostatectomy but, in biochemical recurrence (with PSA ≤ 2 ng/mL), diagnosed as oligometastatic based on FCH or PSMA PET/CT, were identified.

Teleconsultation has become a new means of using care which has taken off significantly since the COVID crisis, The pooling of the technological environment within the TC makes it possible to set up practice reviews by reusing the data collected. Our aim was to evaluate the relevance of antibiotic therapy during teleconsultations carried out on the national teleconsultation platform "Qare" in 4 common infections. 143,428 TCs with structured prescriptions were analyzed, with an appropriate prescription in more than 82% of cases, higher than in the literature.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to implement a clinically deliverable VMAT planning technique dedicated to advanced breast cancer, and to predict failed QA using a machine learning (ML) model to optimize the QA workload.

Methods: For three planning methods (2A: 2-partial arc, 2AS: 2-partial arc with splitting, 4A: 4-partial arc), dosimetric results were compared with patient-specific QA performed with the electronic portal imaging device of the linac. A dataset was built with the pass/fail status of the plans and complexity metrics.

Background: Comparative genomics studies are central in identifying the coding and non-coding elements associated with complex traits, and the functional annotation of genomes is a critical step to decipher the genotype-to-phenotype relationships in livestock animals. As part of the Functional Annotation of Animal Genomes (FAANG) action, the FR-AgENCODE project aimed to create reference functional maps of domesticated animals by profiling the landscape of transcription (RNA-seq), chromatin accessibility (ATAC-seq) and conformation (Hi-C) in species representing ruminants (cattle, goat), monogastrics (pig) and birds (chicken), using three target samples related to metabolism (liver) and immunity (CD4+ and CD8+ T cells).

Results: RNA-seq assays considerably extended the available catalog of annotated transcripts and identified differentially expressed genes with unknown function, including new syntenic lncRNAs.

The amount, distribution and phenotype of ovine NCR1+ cells were investigated during developing GALT from day 70 of gestation. Antibodies against CD3 and CD79 were used to identify the compartments of GALT, and the localization of NCR1+ cells were correlated within these structures. Markers CD34 and c-kit, in addition to Ki67, were used to investigate possible origin and the stage of development of the NCR1+ cells.

Photosensitizers (PS) are ideally devoid of any activity in the absence of photoactivation, and rely on molecular oxygen for the formation of singlet oxygen ((1)O2) to produce cellular damage. Off-targets and tumor hypoxia therefore represent obstacles for the use of PS for cancer photodynamic therapy. Herein, we describe the characterization of OR141, a benzophenazine compound identified through a phenotypic screening for its capacity to be strictly activated by light and to kill a large variety of tumor cells under both normoxia and hypoxia.

Cryptosporidium parvum, a zoonotic protozoan parasite, causes important losses in neonatal ruminants. Innate immunity plays a key role in controlling the acute phase of this infection. The participation of NCR1+ Natural Killer (NK) cells in the early intestinal innate immune response to the parasite was investigated in neonatal lambs inoculated at birth.

CCL20 is a chemokine with antimicrobial activity. We investigated its expression and role during neonatal cryptosporidiosis, a worldwide protozoan enteric disease leading to severe diarrhea. Surprisingly, during infection by Cryptosporidium parvum, CCL20 production by the intestine of neonatal mice is reduced by a mechanism independent both of the enteric flora and of interferon γ, a key cytokine for the resolution of this infection.

A highly enantioselective, chiral, Lewis acid calcium-bis(phosphate) complex, Ca[3 a]n, which catalyzes the electrophilic amination of enamides with azodicarboxylate derivatives 2 to provide versatile chiral 1,2-hydrazinoimines 4 is disclosed. The reaction gives an easy entry to optically active syn-1,2-disubstituted 1,2-diamines 6 in high yields with excellent enantioselectivities, after a one-pot reduction of the intermediate 1,2-hydrazinoimines 4. The geometry and nature of the N-substituent of the enamide affect dramatically both the reactivity and the enantioselectivity.

Delayed γ-ray cascades, originating from the decay of (6⁺) isomeric states, in the very neutron-rich, semimagic isotopes (136,138)Sn have been observed following the projectile fission of a ²³⁸U beam at RIBF, RIKEN. The wave functions of these isomeric states are proposed to be predominantly a fully aligned pair of f(7/2) neutrons. Shell-model calculations, performed using a realistic effective interaction, reproduce well the energies of the excited states of these nuclei and the measured transition rates, with the exception of the B(E2;6⁺→4⁺) rate of ¹³⁶Sn, which deviates from a simple seniority scheme.

A vision-based method is proposed to measure the 3D shape of external and internal surfaces (not accessible) of smooth transparent objects. Looking at the reflections of point sources on a specular surface with a polarimetric camera, we combine the measurements of two techniques: shape from distortion and shape from polarization. It permits us to recover the position and orientation of the specular surface for each detected point.

We found that immunostimulation of the intestinal immune system of neonatal mice by poly(I:C) injection decreased intestinal infection by the parasite Cryptosporidium parvum. We showed that the presence of dendritic cells and the cooperation of mutually dependent cytokines, such as IL-12p40, and type I and type II IFNs, were involved in the mechanism of protection induced by poly(I:C). This protection is dependent not only on TLR3-TRIF signaling, but also on the activation of the TLR5-MyD88 pathway by gut microbiota.

A low-lying state in 131In82, the one-proton hole nucleus with respect to double magic 132Sn, was observed by its γ decay to the Iπ=1/2- β-emitting isomer. We identify the new state at an excitation energy of Ex=1353  keV, which was populated both in the β decay of 131Cd83 and after β-delayed neutron emission from 132Cd84, as the previously unknown πp3/2 single-hole state with respect to the 132Sn core. Exploiting this crucial new experimental information, shell-model calculations were performed to study the structure of experimentally inaccessible N=82 isotones below 132Sn.

Background: Vemurafenib is a BRAF inhibitor indicated for the treatment of metastatic melanoma. We report the two first cases of severe and prolonged radiotherapy-induced visceral toxicity in patients treated concomitantly with vemurafenib: a brain radionecrosis and an anorectitis. It raises the question of both the risks of this association and its benefit in melanoma.
