Scanning probe microscopy (SPM) techniques have shown great potential in fabricating nanoscale structures endowed with exotic quantum properties achieved through various manipulations of atoms and molecules. However, precise control requires extensive domain knowledge, which is not necessarily transferable to new systems and cannot be readily extended to large-scale operations. Therefore, efficient and autonomous SPM techniques are needed to learn optimal strategies for new systems, in particular for the challenge of controlling chemical reactions and hence offering a route to precise atomic and molecular construction.

Background: Eating disorders (EDs), such as (atypical) Anorexia (AN) and Bulimia Nervosa (BN), are difficult to treat, causing socioeconomic impediments. Although enhanced cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-E) is widely considered clinically effective, it may not be the most beneficial treatment for (atypical) AN and BN patients who do not show a rapid response after the first 4 weeks (8 sessions) of a CBT-E treatment. Alternatively, group schema therapy (GST) may be a valuable treatment for this ED population.

One example is triplon excitations, exotic many-body modes emerging from propagating singlet-triplet transitions. The ultraviolet communication (UV) channel has been shown to have unique features that could be exploited for covert ground-to-ground communications in complex non-line-of-sight (NLOS) scenarios. A key challenge is the determination of optimal configuration of pointing directions of the UV nodes in unknown NLOS environments to maximize the link performance. In this paper, we proposed a novel steering optimization approach based on Finite Difference Stochastic Approximation (FDSA) to simultaneously optimize the transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) pointing directions without any knowledge about the locations and relative orientations of the two nodes.

By introducing the Guideline of Outpatient Medical Specialist Care in accordance with §116b SGB V (ASV) in 2014, the German legislation empowers office-based physicians and hospitals to jointly provide medical care in the ambulatory setting.

Deep ultraviolet wavelengths have been proposed for low-probability-of-detection (LPD) communications, particularly for non-line-of-sight (NLOS) links, because of the increased atmospheric absorption at these wavelengths. Motivated by this favorable feature, we develop a modeling framework to quantitatively study the LPD characteristics of ultraviolet communications (UVC). We then demonstrate the application of our modeling framework by considering various friendly and adversarial system configurations and quantifying the proposed LPD metric (the range at which an adversary can detect communications that uses the minimum power needed to meet given communications performance requirements), as well as investigating the sensitivity of the analysis to various scenario parameters.
