The aim of the study was the scientific justification of the comprehensive treatment of patients with osteoarthritis of knee joints, including the combined use of refined naphthalan applications and irradiation with incoherent polarized Bioptron light. The article presents the results of the study which investigated the efficacy of the comprehensive treatment of osteoarthritis of knee joints in patients using the combined exposure to naphthalan applications with irradiation using the non-selective Bioptron chromotherapy in the sanatorium.

[Early postoperative stabilometric training in patients with spinal diseases who underwent decompressive-stabilizing interventions].

Aim: To study the impact of rehabilitation measures on the dynamics of pain syndrome and on the state of postural muscle balance in the early postoperative period in patients with degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the lumbar spine who have undergone decompressive-stabilizing interventions.

Material And Methods: This paper comparatively analyzed the level of pain syndrome in the lumbar spine and lower extremities, the stabilometric indicators characterizing the amplitude of center-of-pressure oscillations in patients who had undergone decompressive-stabilizing operations at 7±2 days after surgical treatment for degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the lumbar spine. Two groups of 60 people in each were formed: rehabilitation measures were implemented, starting on day 2 of an early postoperative period (the duration of the latter was 7±2 days after surgery); the basic complex was supplemented with stabilometric training in Group 1 (a study group); only the basic complex was used in Group 2 (a comparison group).

[Complex use of naphthalane and nonselective chromotherapy in gonarthrosis treatment in rolling stock workers].

Complex treatment using naphthalane applications with nonselective chromotherapy covered 64 engine operators of locomotive crews, aged 40-69 years, having 1-3 stage knee osteoarthrosis. Findings are that optimized treatment schedules effectively reduce intensity of pain, improve functional state of the joints involved, increase life quality of the patients, have no side effects. Comparative analysis of the treatment results showed that efficiency of combined naphthalane and nonselective chromotherapy exceeds isolated naphthalane effects.

[State of vegetative regulation in workers exposed to vibration at work during industrial implementation of hi-tech pneumoinstruments].

The study was conducted on aircraft-building enterprise during production microcycle (before working shift start, during last working hour and in an hour after the shift end)--spectral analysis covered variability of heart rhythm in 70 male assembler riveters aged 25-59, divided into 2 groups in accordance with industrial equipment used. The group 1 used standard vibroinstrument, the group 2--pneumoinstruments with low vibration velocity parameters. Triple study during the working shift revealed in group 2 an adequate reaction of vegetative nervous system to vibration, in group 1 a negative trend was seen with centralization of regulatory processes and absence of adequate recovery in an hour after work.

[Prenosologic criteria of health disorders and cardiovascular risk factors in workers engaged into nuclear industry].

Prophylactic study among workers engaged into main production of Siberian chemical enterprise (Seversk city) revealed high frequency of cardiovascular risk factors (overweight, hypodynamia, dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension), low level of adaptational potential and integral somatic health parameter as prenosologic criteria of cardiovascular diseases. The results necessitate recommendations to supplement periodic medical examinations with studies aimed to reveal early criteria of health disorders, and determine priority directions to specify prophylactic measures in nuclear industry workers.

[Mobilization and traction therapy for lumbar dorsopathies in obese individuals working in sedentary conditions].

Material And Methods: The survey covered 1232 males aged 25-59 years exposed to vibration at their working places for 1 to 30 years (test group) and 1163 males matched for age but not exposed to vibration (control group). Active primary and secondary prevention of AH and annual population control for 10 years were performed in the test group.

[Clinical characteristics of endocarditis running with viral hepatitis in intravenous drug abusers].

Viral hepatitis (VH) was diagnosed in 65% of patients with infectious endocarditis (IE) abusing intravenous narcotic drugs. VH caused recurrent course of IE in 8% examinees. [Indications for the use of tactivin in the combined treatment of phlegmons of the maxillofacial area].

The effects of subcutaneous and endolymphatic tactivin (in doses of 1 ml of 0.01% solution daily for 7 days) on clinical and immunological parameters were studied in patients with acute inflammations in the maxillofacial area, running a normo-, hypo-, and hyperergic course. Tactivin accelerated the arrest of inflammatory process and improved the patients' status, particularly so in cases with the hypo- and hyperergic inflammations.

[Effect of space flight and head-down position on motoneuron- glia-capillary system of the rat bone marrow].

In the anterior horns of the rats exposed to a 14 day space mission and 8-11 hrs of earth gravity environments postflight there occurred morphologic changes pointing to the motoneuron hypofunction which was expressed to a greater extent in motoneurons at C3-C4 level than at L4-L5 level. As the time of the rat stay under Earth gravity conditions following 14-day space mission is increased up to 48-51 hrs the structural changes in the motoneuron-glia capillary system at the L4-L5 level is indicative of an activation of spinal cord motoneurons. The 14 day head-down suspension (HDS) of the rats results in the morphologic changes in anterior horns which are an indication of hyperfunction of motoneurons in cervical enlargement and hypofunction of motoneurons in lumbar enlargement of the spinal cord.

[Evaluation of the effectiveness of the program of primary prevention of arterial hypertension at an industrial plant based on a prospective epidemiological study].

Whether the primary arterial hypertension prevention programme can be applied among employees of a Novosibirsk industrial enterprise within the framework of the second stage of the USSR Cooperative Study of Arterial Hypertension Control, is studied. For this, the authors used sodium-restricted diet concurrent with non-drug therapy (physio-, balneo-, reflexotherapy and acupuncture), and active sanitary education.
