We compute the fifth post-Minkowskian (5PM) order contributions to the scattering angle and impulse of classical black hole scattering in the conservative sector at first self-force order using the worldline quantum field theory formalism. This challenging four-loop computation required the use of advanced integration-by-parts and differential equation technology implemented on high-performance computing systems. Use of partial fraction identities allowed us to render the complete integrand in a fully planar form.

We report a case of a mid-20s primigravida at 37 weeks' gestation who presented with severe headache and acute neurological deterioration. The CT brain scan showed hydrocephalus caused by a colloid cyst in the third ventricle. The patient underwent emergency placement of an external ventricular drain for decompression of acute hydrocephalus.

Ultrafast laser excitation provides a means to transiently realize long-range ordered electronic states of matter that are hidden in thermal equilibrium. Recently, this approach has unveiled a variety of thermally inaccessible ordered states in strongly correlated materials, including charge density wave, ferroelectric, magnetic, and intertwined charge-orbital ordered states. However, more exotic hidden states exhibiting higher multipolar ordering remain elusive owing to the challenge of directly manipulating and detecting them with light.

Many flavonoids and isoflavonoids have an undesirable bitter taste, which hampers their use as food bioactives. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of a large set of structurally similar (iso)flavonoids on the activation of bitter receptors hTAS2R14 and hTAS2R39 and to predict their structural requirements to activate these receptors. In total, 68 compounds activated hTAS2R14 and 70 compounds activated hTAS2R39, among which 58 ligands were overlapping.

Intracranial mesenchymal chondrosarcoma is a rare, high-grade malignancy with the highest prevalence in young adults. Because of its rarity, most data regarding survival are limited to case studies and small series. We present a 71-year-old woman with an intracranial dural based mesenchymal chondrosarcoma located in the anterior skull base, to our knowledge the oldest patient reported with this tumor.

Object: Diagnosing primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) may be difficult either because of a paucity of tumor cells in the brain biopsy specimens or a failure to demonstrate monoclonality on immunomorphological studies. Monoclonality can also be demonstrated by amplification of the rearranged immunoglobulin H genes by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to the framework region (FR)3 and FR2 complementarity determining region (CDR)-III and CDR-II of these genes. The PCR method is feasible with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded biopsy material and has proven to be helpful in the diagnosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma on biopsy samples obtained from various locations in the body.

High doses of adenotk were injected into the cerebrospinal fluid of rats and nonhuman primates (Macaca mulatta). Vector administration was followed by ganciclovir administration for 14 days. Despite the absence of clinical symptoms, analysis of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and histopathological examination of the central nervous system (CNS) of the monkeys (3 weeks after vector injection) were consistent with a viral meningitis.

Gene therapy by administration of vectors into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) may be used in treatment of leptomeningeal metastases (cancer gene therapy) as well as in treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, traumatic injury, and chronic pain. Recombinant adenoviruses are attractive vectors for intra-CSF administration because they can efficiently transfer genes into the nonreplicating cells of the central nervous system (CNS). In addition, they can be produced in high titers and, because no producers cells are introduced, the risk of CSF obstruction by clustering cells is circumvented.
