Elevation of maternal serum myoglobin concentrations during delivery.

Serum myoglobin was determined by radioimmunoassay in 32 women immediately after delivery, in the umbilical cord blood of 30 newborn infants, in 18 women in the third trimester of pregnancy and in 24 healthy non-pregnant women. In maternal blood following delivery there was a 3 to 10 fold rise in serum myoglobin concentration (mean +/- SD = 117.2 +/- 82.

Two cases of ring chromosome 13. Chromosome banding patterns and mosaic configuration.

Two ring chromosomes 13 were studied by means of various cytogenetic techniques in two psychomotorically retarded male infants. Common features of our patients include microcephalia, hypertelorism, wide and prominent nose bridge, and cryptorchism. Various configurations of the aberrant chromosomes could be identified in cultured skin fibroblasts and peripheral lymphocytes from both patients.
