The use of standardised short-term and working memory tests in aphasia research: a systematic review.

Impairments of short-term and working memory (STM, WM), both verbal and non-verbal, are ubiquitous in aphasia. Increasing interest in assessing STM and WM in aphasia research and clinical practice as well as a growing evidence base of STM/WM treatments for aphasia warrant an understanding of the range of standardised STM/WM measures that have been utilised in aphasia. To date, however, no previous systematic review has focused on aphasia.

Influence of age and native language on immediate verbal repetition.

Revascularization in severe left ventricular dysfunction: outcome comparison of drug-eluting stent implantation versus coronary artery by-pass grafting.

Objective: We compared the outcome of drug eluting stent (DES) implantation (Sirolimus or Paclitaxel) in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy and severe left ventricular (LV) dysfunction with the outcome of a similar group of patients undergoing coronary artery by-pass grafting (CABG).

Background: Revascularization provides long-term benefits in patients with severe LV dysfunction. However the modality to achieve it is still unsettled in this high risk group of patients.

Coronary artery aneurysms after angioplasty and atherectomy.

Coronary artery aneurysm formation after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty and directional coronary atherectomy is unusual. We report the case of a left anterior descending coronary artery aneurysm that formed in such a patient. The left anterior descending coronary artery was bypassed and the aneurysm was plicated with the aid of coronary angioscopy.

Cardiac valvular chondroma.

The case of a 36-year-old woman with a tricuspid valvular tumor is presented. The lesion was successfully resected through the right atrium. Histologic examination showed a chondroma arising in a cardiac valve.
