Background And Purpose: Flow diversion (FD) has expanded beyond initial indications (proximal carotid artery aneurysms) to include distal circulation aneurysms (on the anterior, middle, or posterior cerebral arteries). Our objective was to examine results obtained from aneurysms in these locations in the Flow Diversion in the Treatment of Intracranial Aneurysms Trial (FIAT) which compared FD with alternative standard management options (ASMO).

Materials And Methods: FIAT was an all-inclusive parallel-group 1:1 randomized study comparing FD with one of 4 ASMOs (coiling +/-stenting, parent vessel occlusion (PVO), clipping, or observation, pre-specified by clinical judgment).

Clinical Reasoning: A 70-Year-Old Man With Systemic Illness Related Strokes Refractory to Medical Treatment Managed With Intracranial Stent.

We present the case of a 70-year-old man with a history of embolic stroke, atrial fibrillation, deep vein thrombosis, and polymyalgia rheumatica who presented as a stroke code with transient right-sided focal neurologic deficits (motor and sensory), mild alteration in consciousness, and mild aphasia. His cerebrovascular imaging revealed new multifocal intracranial stenoses. Despite best medical management, this patient continued to have recurrent symptomatic cerebrovascular events.

Background: Postoperative physical therapy (POPT) is a critical aspect of patient recovery following orthopedic shoulder surgery. Despite the importance of POPT, some patients do not complete their course of physical therapy, which can affect postoperative recovery and outcomes. Koolen-de Vries Syndrome: a journey from diagnosis to treatments.

The Koolen-de Vries Syndrome Foundation was founded in 2013 with the mission to educate, increase awareness, promote research and develop treatments for individuals living with Koolen-de Vries Syndrome (KdVS) and their families. With this aim, the foundation has focused on: developing scientific resources through patient cell and animal models, providing seed funding to basic and clinical researchers, establishing a natural history study of KdVS and increasing patient engagement. Projects have been prioritized across these areas of focus with an emphasis on expanding international research on KdVS, supporting translational research, establishing an international natural history study and conducting studies to assess patient priorities.

While empirical studies have observed that homeownership is associated with improved mental health conditions, research indicates that this relationship might vary by race. Moreover, such a White-Black disparity in the impacts of homeownership on mental health could be complexed by poverty status, as maintaining one's homeownership could be a financial burden for people living in poverty status, defined by the US official poverty threshold. We add to the existing literature by analyzing the impacts of homeownership on psychological distress, simultaneously disaggregating by race and poverty status using survey data from the Panel Study on Income Dynamics from the 2017 and 2019 waves (N = 7059).

As the management of gastrointestinal malignancy has evolved, tumor response assessment has expanded from size-based assessments to those that include tumor enhancement, in addition to functional data such as those derived from PET and diffusion-weighted imaging. Accurate interpretation of tumor response therefore requires knowledge of imaging modalities used in gastrointestinal malignancy, anticancer therapies, and tumor biology. Targeted therapies such as immunotherapy pose additional considerations due to unique imaging response patterns and drug toxicity; as a consequence, immunotherapy response criteria have been developed.

The anatomical position and morphology of this entity make it challenging for endovascular treatment. We report our experience with two patients successfully treated with a stent-assisted Woven EndoBridge (WEB; Microvention, Tustin, CA, USA) device.
