: Persistent Müllerian duct syndrome (PMDS) is a rare disorder of sex development (DSD) caused by mutations in the genes coding anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) or the AMH receptor, characterized by the persistence of Müllerian derivatives, the uterus and/or fallopian tubes, in otherwise normally virilized boys. Testicular regression syndrome is common in PMDS, yet the association with supernumerary testis has been reported in only two patients where genetic testing was not performed. : Thus, we report an individual with this particular association caused by a previously unreported homozygous variant in the gene to enable future genotype-phenotype correlations in this rare disorder.

Cerebrovascular complications of pregnancy represent a significant cause of maternal mortality and morbidity and are potentially disabling. Acute basilar artery occlusion secondary to spontaneous vertebral artery dissection in the postpartum period is an infrequent entity and a major diagnostic and treatment challenge.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence and clinical significance of subclavian steal among a large number of consecutive ischemic stroke patients.
Materials And Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 2192 consecutive cases of acute ischemic stroke at a tertiary neurology clinic in Targu Mures, Romania, between 2018 and 2020.
Unlabelled: Gender has been shown to be an important variable in cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) risk and significantly influences its clinical manifestations and outcome. The aim of our study was to investigate the gender-specific risk factor profile and clinical picture of this rare cerebrovascular disorder.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 89 consecutive cases of CVT at a tertiary neurology clinic in Târgu Mures, Romania, between June 2009 and January 2021 to analyze the gender-related differences in etiology, clinical presentation, and outcome.
Background: Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a rare variant of stroke in the general population, but an important subtype among pregnancy- and puerperium-related cases. Studies describing its risk factors and clinical characteristics are limited. The aim of our study is to disclose these aspects and compare with cases unrelated to pregnancy and puerperium.

The purpose of this document is to propose technical strategies to assist the pediatric surgeons to minimize the potential aerosolization of viral particles in COVID-19 patients undergoing urgent or emergent surgical treatment using laparoscopic approaches, based on the currently available literature. The situation and recommendations are subject to change with emerging information.

The study aim was to assess short-term effects of mobilization and walking the day of THA (WDS) on independence, pain, function and quality of life.
Methods: Seventy-one patients were allocated in a study (SG: = 36) or control (CG: = 35) groups according to time of surgery and recovery from anesthesia.

Aim: The porcine model is the most widely used animal model for laparoscopic training. However, in pediatric surgery, an experimental setting with smaller animals could improve the training conditions. We compared the efficiency of a rabbit model versus the porcine model for training in pediatric minimally invasive surgery (MIS).

The authors reported their experience in laparoscopic and retroperitoneoscopic nephrectomy analyzing their 20 years of experience in this procedure.
Methods: In a 20-year period (1995-2015), the authors performed 149 nephrectomies in children using MIS (87 left, 62 right).
Rationale: Infantile Hemangiomas (IH) are the most frequent tumors of vascular origin, and the differential diagnosis from vascular malformations is difficult to establish. Specific types of IH due to the location, dimensions and fast evolution, can determine important functional and esthetic sequels. To avoid these unfortunate consequences it is necessary to establish the exact appropriate moment to begin the treatment and decide which the most adequate therapeutic procedure is.

The impact they have on fertility is not known entirely, for they are difficult to diagnose. Endometriosis causes infertility and it is a hard to treat lesion.

The estimated incidence is of less than 1 per 1,000.000 live births and represents a significant challenge to the pediatric and orthopedic surgeons in order to establish a diagnosis and to elaborate a management plan.

Methods: The data of fifty-two children underwent laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (42 upper-pole nephrectomies and 10 lower-pole nephrectomies) in six European centers of Pediatric Surgery, were collected and analyzed. Median age at surgery was 5.
Purpose: The aim of this paper was to propose structured guidelines for a European pediatric MIS training program created by ESPES.
Methods: A questionnaire, focused on how the pediatric training program in MIS has to be structured, was proposed to all participants at the ESPES Congress in Marseille in 2013.
Results: We received 178 questionnaires but only 139 questionnaires were fully completed and analyzed.

Ureteral fibroepithelial polyps are a rather uncommon pathological entity. However, an increase of their incidence was recorded during the recent period, probably due to better access to the investigative methods. The aim of this study was to assess the diagnosis and endoscopic treatment particularities of these cases.

Establishing the histopathological diagnosis of a tumor, staging of a disease and certifying the existence of rare pediatric affections are three of the motives for which the specialists frequently appeal to an exploratory laparoscopy, accompanied by biopsy procedures. The paper presents the laparoscopic biopsy experience of the team from the Department of Pediatric Surgery, "Maria Skłodowska Curie" Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children, Bucharest, Romania.

If these motions are restricted, usually as a consequence of cerebral palsy or arthrogryposis, normal gait is hindered; the patient may be able to walk for very short distances or, eventually, not at all. Children with knee extension limited by 10 - 30 degrees, especially those with cerebral palsy, exhibit a stance compatible with walking.

Background: The purpose of our study is to assess primitive and secondary malignant pulmonary tumors in children. The presence of lung tumors in newborns and infants is a point of interest to specialists in pediatric surgery, thoracic surgery and genetics due to the high death rate. The 5-years survival rate communicated by EUROCARE-study is less than 10% for primitive tumors and less than 15% in lung metastases.

Peritonitis and hemorrhagic incidents are both part of the complications aspect of laparoscopic surgery. Fortunately, the incidence is limited, thus excluding the rejection of celioscopic methods.
