Validation of a scale assessing the impact of periodontal diseases on patients' quality of life in Bulgaria (pilot research).

The aim of the paper is to present the validation of a scale for assessing the impact of periodontal diseases on individuals' quality of life in Bulgaria. A pilot research was made among 30 diagnosed patients with periodontitis visiting the Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Medical University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The minimum sample size of 30 people was established based on a power analysis for sample size calculation.

Somatotypological characterization of Bulgarian children and adolescents (Smolyan region).

The aim of this study is to investigate age- and sex-related changes in somatotypological characteristics of Bulgarian children and adolescents from Smolyan region. The investigated sample in this work included a total 1086 (559 boys and 527 girls), aged 7-17 years and measured cross-sectional between 1998-2001. Standard anthropometric technique and instruments were used.
