Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore the intersection between trauma and discrimination among Black and Latino/a/x youth seeking treatment. Specifically, we examine: 1) the frequency of various everyday discrimination experiences, averaged across the sample and disaggregated by demographic characteristics; 2) unique associations between exposure to potentially traumatic events (PTEs) and everyday discrimination experiences; and 3) unique associations between everyday discrimination experiences and specific posttraumatic stress symptoms while accounting for demographic characteristics and PTEs.
Method: Participants were 573 Black (54.

The incidence of oesophageal adenocarcinoma (OAC) has risen six-fold in western countries over the last forty years but survival rates have only marginally improved. Hyperactivation of the PI3K-AKT-mTOR pathway is a common occurrence in OAC, driving cell survival, proliferation and resistance to chemotherapeutic agents. Inhibition of AKT has been explored as a treatment strategy with limited success and current inhibitors have failed to progress through clinical trials.

These receptors are targeted in autoimmune-induced thyroid eye disease (TED). Effective therapeutic treatment of TED inhibits activation of the IGF-1R/TSH-R complex.

Purpose: Teprotumumab, a novel human monoclonal antibody, has been shown to reverse the clinical manifestations of thyroid eye disease. Previous reports have suggested that it demonstrates disease-modifying properties through the reduction of orbital fat and muscle volumes. This study aims to analyze orbital volumetric change following treatment and to identify clinical and radiological predictors of response.

Purpose: To compare regression rates, characteristics, and surgical outcomes of thyroid eye disease patients who underwent orbit, strabismus, or eyelid surgery at various times during or after teprotumumab treatment.
Design: Multicenter, retrospective, observational cohort study.
Participants: Adult patients (age >18) with a minimum of 4 infusions of teprotumumab treatment for thyroid eye disease who had had eye surgery during or after treatment.

Christianity was founded on the teachings of Jesus, whose words emphasize protecting and honoring children. Jesus' teachings are historically unique for the period with his emphasis on safeguarding children, but the church moved away from this focus. First century Christianity adopted protections for children and harsh consequences for those who would abuse a child.

This study aimed to investigate the primary care burden and clinical characteristics of skin conditions in this cohort.
Method: A one-year retrospective cohort study of urban-living Aboriginal CYP presenting for general practitioner (GP) consultation at an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) was conducted.
Objectives: Nasal anaesthetic-decongestant sprays are commonly used prior to nasal instrumentation, such as flexible and rigid nasal endoscopy. Co-phenylcaine (lignocaine 5%, phenylephrine 0.5%, ENT Technologies Pty Ltd.

While several species have been identified as causal pathogens of GLS, GFR, and ABR, their relative frequency and fungicide sensitivity status in the southeastern U.

Mastoid mucosa and cholesteatoma tissue from eleven subjects with CSOM with cholesteatoma, and mastoid mucosa from ten controls were examined using standard hospital culture swabs, Gram staining, bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequencing, Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR), and multiplex PCR. Positive results from culture swabs were reported in half the CSOM with cholesteatoma samples and 1 control sample.

In this study QSAR and SSD models for six pyrethroid and four organophosphate compounds using QSAR Toolbox and SSD Toolbox have been developed. The QSAR models, described by the formula 48 h-EC50 or 96 h-LC50 = x + y * log Kow, were validated for predicting 48 h-EC50 values for acute toxicity and 96 h-LC50 values for acute fish toxicity, meeting criteria of ≥10, ≥0.

Through newly established paediatric dermatology clinics at two urban Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), we aimed to describe clinic and patient data, including disease frequencies and associations, to inform dermatology service provision and advocacy.
Methods: A prospective cohort study of Aboriginal children and young people (CYP, 0-18 years) attending Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP) co-ordinated paediatric dermatology clinics at two urban ACCHOs.

Background: Teprotumumab, a novel IGF-1R antibody was recently shown to significantly reduce the signs of acute and chronic thyroid eye disease (TED) related to hyperthyroidism. Given the lower incidence of TED associated with hypothyroidism / euthyroidism, there is a paucity of data regarding the efficacy of teprotumumab in this group.
Methods: In this multicenter study, consecutive patients who had been diagnosed with TED, presenting with either hypothyroidism or euthyroidism as their baseline thyroid dysfunction and treated with teprotumumab were included.

Purpose: To determine the rate of re-treatment in patients who receive a full course of teprotumumab therapy for thyroid eye disease (TED) and drivers of re-treatment.
Design: Multicenter retrospective study.
Participants: All patients who received a full course of treatment and had available data at 1 year after initial treatment were included.
Novel topical therapeutics require extensive pre-clinical testing to assess efficacy and safety. Antibiofilm or immunosuppressant agents can utilize ex vivo models to measure ciliotoxicity. Agents that are found to be effective and non-toxic ex vivo warrant further investigation in vivo.

We aimed to determine the prevalence and characteristics of work-related MSK disorders (WRMDs) in endoscopic sinus and skull base surgeons; to investigate contributing factors for WRMD in this population; and to evaluate the effectiveness of ergonomic interventions on the severity or prevalence of WRMD in this population.

Study Objective: Describe dosing of local anesthetic when both a periarticular injection (PAI) and peripheral nerve block (PNB) are utilized for knee arthroplasty analgesia, and compare the dosing of local to suggested maximum dosing, and look for evidence of local anesthetic systemic toxicity (LAST).
Design: A single center retrospective cohort study between May 2018 and November 2022.
Setting: A major academic hospital.
Thyroid eye disease (TED) is the most common extra thyroidal manifestation of Graves' disease (GD). It may also present in those who are hypothyroid or euthyroid. The characteristic clinical manifestations of TED, chemosis, lid swelling, proptosis, and diplopia, are driven by a combination of inflammation and extracellular matrix modification.
