Background: The first-line therapy for choledocholithiasis is endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with stone extraction, which is successful in over 90% of cases. However, large biliary stones often require extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy, electrohydraulic lithotripsy (EHL), or laser lithotripsy.
