The abdominal mesenteries are important peritoneal structures that give rise to a wide spectrum of abnormalities, including solid mesenteric masses. Despite similarities in appearance, solid masses in the mesentery may have diverse etiologies, ranging from benign to highly malignant. While metastases are the most common cause of solid masses in the mesentery, other less common conditions are also important diagnostic considerations.

Methods: The local institutional review board approved the study, and all patients provided written informed consent. We examined 168 thyroid nodules (52 malignant and 116 benign) with freehand elastography.
Background And Purpose: White-matter hyperintensities (WMHs) detected by magnetic resonance imaging are thought to represent the effects of cerebral small-vessel disease and neurodegenerative changes. We sought to determine whether the spatial distribution of WMHs discriminates between different disease groups and healthy aging individuals and whether these distributions are related to local cerebral perfusion patterns.
Methods: We examined the pattern of WMHs by T2/fluid-attenuated inversion recovery-weighted magnetic resonance imaging in 3 groups of subjects: cerebral amyloid angiopathy (n=32), Alzheimer disease or mild cognitive impairment (n=41), and healthy aging (n=29).
Fewer than 140 cases of aortic sarcoma have been reported with only 34 classified as angiosarcoma. These rare malignancies most often mimic aortoiliac occlusive or aneurysmal arteriosclerotic disease both clinically and on imaging studies, and the large majority are unexpected and diagnosed pathologically on a surgical specimen or at autopsy.
