Recent Findings: There are multiple potential ways that the paraprotein may result in peripheral neuropathy. The diagnosis and management of monoclonal gammopathy-associated PN are challenging and necessitate a concerted effort between the hematologist/oncologist and the neurologist.
Background And Aims: Tropical forests exchange more carbon dioxide (CO2) with the atmosphere than any other terrestrial biome. Yet, uncertainty in the projected carbon balance over the next century is roughly three-times greater for the tropics than other ecosystems. Our limited knowledge of tropical plant physiological responses, including photosynthetic, to climate change is a substantial source of uncertainty in our ability to forecast the global terrestrial carbon sink.

Methods: We followed established consensus process methodology to iteratively create simulation-based extensions for SQUIRE 2.0 reporting guidelines.
Background: Injuries to the deep medial collateral ligament (dMCL) and partial superficial MCL (psMCL) can cause anteromedial rotatory instability; however, the contribution of each these injuries in restraining anteromedial rotatory instability and the effect on the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) load remain unknown.
Purpose: To investigate the contributions of the different MCL structures in restraining tibiofemoral motion and to evaluate the load through the ACL after MCL injury, especially after combined dMCL/psMCL injury.
Study Design: Controlled laboratory study.
Background: Injuries to the medial collateral ligament (MCL), specifically the deep MCL (dMCL) and superficial MCL (sMCL), are both reported to be factors in anteromedial rotatory instability (AMRI); however, a partial sMCL (psMCL) injury is often present, the effect of which on AMRI is unknown.

Methods: This pediatric trauma simulation training session included two cases and formats. The first case was designed in a traditional format and featured a 12-month-old child with inflicted blunt head and abdominal trauma.
Behavioral skills, sometimes referred to as nontechnical skills or team-based skills, are fundamental to simulation-based team training. These skills should be afforded the same deliberate practice and development as clinical knowledge and procedural skills in health care education. Applied improvisation, the use of theater games designed to improve individual and team performance, is gaining traction in health care education to train behavioral skills.

Objective: To describe how topics related to SDoH and inclusion, diversity, equity, anti-racism, and social justice (IDEAS) were incorporated into a preclinical neuroscience course.
Methods: IDEAS concepts and guided discussions were added to our existing case-based curriculum, and guest speakers were invited to discuss how these concepts are relevant in the field of neurology.
: In the inpatient academic medical center, increased demand for clinical services often equates to an increased workload for trainees, which could have a positive or negative impact on their educational experience. In 2020, our academic medical center hired Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to provide continuous additional overnight coverage for our neurology ward teaching service. We hypothesized that adding APPs and reducing overnight clinical workload for residents would have a positive impact on resident education.

We implemented a novel didactic series of facilitated discussions between a patient and their outpatient neurologist to expose residents to outpatient topics and management skills.
Objectives: (1) Improve residents' understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the neurologist in the outpatient setting; (2) share with residents the patient's perspective of living with chronic neurologic disease; and (3) improve residents' understanding of what effective shared decision making entails.
Background And Objectives: A growing number of advanced practice providers (APPs) are entering neurologic practice, and educational initiatives focused on postgraduate training in neurology for these providers are growing in turn. Neurologic education in APP degree programs is not well defined, which limits the ability to tailor these initiatives to the specific needs of APPs. We aim to describe neurologic education in physician assistant (PA) degree programs to better inform these efforts.
