Grapevine downy mildew, caused by oomycete fungus , is one of the most devastating diseases of grapes across the major production regions of the world. Although many putative effector molecules have been identified from this pathogen, the functions of the majority of these are still unknown. In this study, we analyzed the potential function of 26 effectors from the highly virulent strain YL.

The aim of this work was to analyze the expression of Ki-67 in ovary, testis of aging mice with anthocyanidin extract from Summer-black-grape. ICR mice (the aging group and the anthocyanidin-groups (50 mg/kg/D-group, 75 mg/kg/D-group and 100 mg/kg/D-group) were employed to evaluate the effect of grape anthocyanidin on reproductive system. The results showed that the anthocyanidin had strong scavenging ability for free radicals, the level of oxidation in serum of mice treated with anthocyanidin was low, and the pathological changes were not obvious.

Previous studies have found that magnetite can promote the hydrolysis-acidification but inhibit the methanogenesis, while zero-valent iron (ZVI) only promoted the methanogenesis. Therefore, a new two-phase anaerobic digestion model, in which magnetite was added to the first phase, and ZVI was added to the second phase, was proposed to promote both hydrolysis-acidification and methanogenesis and avoid magnetite inhibition. The results showed that in the new model, methane production was improved by 10.

Mammalian skeletal muscles comprise different types of muscle fibers, and this muscle fiber heterogeneity is generally characterized by the expression of myosin heavy chain (MyHC) isoforms. A switch in MyHC expression leads to muscle fiber-type transition under various physiological and pathological conditions, but the underlying regulator coordinating the switch of MyHC expression remains largely unknown. Experiments reported in this study revealed the presence of a skeletal muscle-specific antisense transcript generated from the intergenic region between porcine MyHC IIa and IIx and is referred to here as MyHC IIA/X-AS.

A porous g-CN nanosheet containing nitrogen defects (D-g-CN) was synthesized by using a one-step polymerization process in an atmosphere produced via the decomposition of ammonium persulfate. The photocatalytic removal rate of D3-g-CN for meropenem (MER) is 7.45-fold higher than the one of a conventional g-CN sample.

Proteasome inhibitor bortezomib offers one more option for acute or chronic antibody-mediated rejection after kidney transplantation, but aggravated acute kidney injury (AKI) in some cases early after surgery using bortezomib bring new problem. Here, we evaluated the effects of bortezomib and ONX-0914 on renal tubule injury in a mouse model of ischemia-reperfusion injury. After treated with bortezomib, serum creatinine, usea nitrogen and tubular necrosis significantly increased compared with vehicle-treated mice, but decreased in ONX-0914 group mildly.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of brachytherapy combined with or without hormone therapy in patients with localized prostate cancer. We systemically searched the Medline, Web of Science, Cochrane Library and Embase databases for studies published between the databases' dates of inception and February 2019. The primary endpoints were the 5-year overall survival (OS) rates, 5-year biochemical progression-free survival (bPFS) rates and 10-year bPFS rates.

MicroRNA (miRNA) is essential for the process of gene posttranscriptional regulation in skeletal muscle of many species, such as mice, cattle and so on. However, a little number of miRNAs have been reported in the muscle development of Chinese native pig breeds. In this study, the longissimus dorsi transcripts of Chinese native Rongchang pig at weaning and slaughter time points were analysed for miRNA-seq.

Diarrheic shellfish poisoning (DSP) toxins are produced by harmful microalgae and accumulate in bivalve mollusks, causing various toxicity. These toxic effects appear to abate with increasing DSP concentration and longer exposure time, however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. To explore the underlying molecular mechanisms, de novo transcriptome analysis of the digestive gland of Perna viridis was performed after Prorocentrum lima exposure.

Characterizing bacterial communities is of great significance for targeted control of bacteria-induced clogging during geothermal water recharge. Based on a series of laboratory-scale percolation experiments, the variations in bacterial community diversity, composition, and structure were investigated during simulated geothermal water recharge using high-throughput sequencing technology. The Chao, Shannon, and Evenness indexes were used to quantify the richness, diversity, and evenness of the bacterial community, respectively.

C1q/TNF-related protein 6 (CTRP6) is a member of the CTRP family that has been reported to exhibit a nephroprotective effect. However, the role of CTRP6 in renal ischaemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury (IRI) remains unclear. In the present study, we aimed to explore the protective effect of CTRP6 in renal IRI and the potential mechanism.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) refers to a clinical syndrome that occurs as a result of a rapid decline in renal function caused by multiple factors. Renal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury is one of the main causes of AKI and has a high incidence and mortality. However, the specific pathogenesis of renal I/R injury is still unclear.

In present study, an efficient ternary Ag/TiO/mesoporous g-CN (M-g-CN) photocatalyst was successfully synthesized through depositing Ag nanoparticles (NPs) on the surface of TiO/M-g-CN heterojunction. Ag/TiO/M-g-CN nanocomposite displayed the highest degradation efficiency for amoxicillin (AMX) compared to TiO/M-g-CN heterojunction, M-g-CN, and bulk-g-CN (B-g-CN). The removal efficiency of AMX in real situation, surface water (SW), hospital wastewater (HW), and waste water treatment plant (WWTP) also were studied to illustrate the effectiveness of Ag/TiO/M-g-CN photocatalysts.

The successful cryopreservation of organs is a strong and widespread demand around the world but faces great challenges. The mechanisms of cold tolerance of organisms in nature inspirit researchers to find new solutions for these challenges. Especially, the thermal, mechanical, biological and biophysical changes during the regulation of freezing tolerance process should be studied and coordinated to improve the cryopreservation technique and quality of complex organs.

A series of -aryl-pyridine-4-one derivatives were designed and synthesized using maltol and antidesmone as lead compounds, and then their fungicidal/bactericidal activities and possible mechanism of action against were explored. Most of these compounds exhibited significant fungicidal activity . Especially, compound has more than 90% inhibitory activity against nine plant pathogenic fungi at 50 μg mL, which is superior to azoxystrobin.

The Longfeng Wetland of Daqing City in China was taken as the research object to determine a reasonable sewage reduction scheme and resolve the pollution of urban wetland ecosystems. First, the main pollutants, including dichromate oxidizability (COD), ammonia nitrogen (NH-N), total phosphorus (TP), and petroleum, were selected as indices. A two-dimensional hydrodynamic and water quality coupling model was established using MIKE 21.

High warming rates during cryopreservation are crucial and essential for successful vitrification. However, realizing a faster warming rate in low-concentration cryoprotective agents appears to be challenging for conventional warming process through convective heat transfer. Herein, we developed a liquid metal (LM) nanosystem that can act as a spatial source to significantly enhance the warming rates with near-infrared laser irradiation during the warming process.

Cryopreservation of red blood cells (RBCs) holds great potential benefits for supplying transfusion timely in emergencies. Currently, glycerol is the main cryoprotectant permitted in clinical therapy for RBCs cryopreservation, but its broad application is limited by the toxicity and complex deglycerolization process. Successful cryopreservation of RBCs using more effective materials should be studied to reduce freezing damage, increase biocompatibility, and save processing time.
