The Nature of Ferromagnetism in a System of Self-Ordered α-FeSi Nanorods on a Si(111)-4° Vicinal Surface: Experiment and Theory.

In this study, the appearance of magnetic moments and ferromagnetism in nanostructures of non-magnetic materials based on silicon and transition metals (such as iron) was considered experimentally and theoretically. An analysis of the related literature shows that for a monolayer iron coating on a vicinal silicon surface with (111) orientation after solid-phase annealing at 450-550 °C, self-ordered two-dimensional islands of α-FeSi displaying superparamagnetic properties are formed. We studied the transition to ferromagnetic properties in a system of α-FeSi nanorods (NRs) in the temperature range of 2-300 K with an increase in the iron coverage to 5.

Formation of a Thin Continuous GaSb Film on Si(001) by Solid Phase Epitaxy.

Nanocrystalline GaSb films were grown on Si(001) from the stoichiometric Ga⁻Sb mixture using solid-phase epitaxy at temperatures of 200⁻500 °C. Use of the solid-phase epitaxy method allowed the suppression of Ga surface diffusion and prevention of intense Sb desorption. At the annealing temperature of 300 °C, a 14-nm-thick GaSb film aggregates, while a 20-nm-thick GaSb film remains continuous with a roughness of 1.

An approach to growth of Fe-Si multilayers with controlled composition profile-a way to exchange coupled thin films.

The growth, composition and structure of sandwich structures (Fe-rich layer/Si-rich layer/Fe-rich silicide layer) grown on a Si(111) surface were studied by a few complementary microscopic and spectroscopic techniques with high spatial resolution. Intermixing at the Fe/Si and Si/Fe interfaces is demonstrated. Fe-rich layers grown directly on the Si(111) surface are crystalline and have abrupt but rough interfaces at both sides.

Safety and availability of clofazimine in the treatment of multidrug and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis: analysis of published guidance and meta-analysis of cohort studies.

Self-organization of CrSi2 nanoislands on Si(111) and growth of monocrystalline silicon with buried multilayers of CrSi2 nanocrystallites.

The process of self-organization of CrSi2 nanosize islands on Si(111)7 x 7 surface has been investigated during reactive deposition (RDE) of Cr at 500 degrees C by methods of low energy diffraction (LEED) and differential reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). Morphology of grown samples has been studied by atomic force microscopy (AFM). DRS data have demonstrated the semiconductor nature of silicide islands from the beginning of Cr deposition at 500 degreesC.

[Results of integrated tests of the facility to disinfect gaseous environment of orbital stations].

The microbiological safety control with the use of the Potok 150M facility aboard operational orbital station of Mir series is discussed. The test results indicated that the facility does not actually influence the content of harmful microscopic admixtures in a gaseous medium of the mock-up compartments of the Mir orbital station, elevates slightly the noise level during operation and provides the highly effective purification of gaseous medium from dust and microorganisms. It allows us to conclude that an application of the Potok 150M facility aboard operational station shows promise.

[Laser in the prevention of early postoperative complications in the surgical treatment of obesity].
