The growth of IoT healthcare is aimed at providing efficient services to patients by utilizing data from local hospitals. However, privacy concerns can impede data sharing among third parties. Federated learning offers a solution by enabling the training of neural networks while maintaining the privacy of the data.

Article Synopsis
  • The text discusses how biosensors on the human body create a wireless body area network (WBAN) to monitor various physiological metrics such as temperature and brain activity.
  • Deep learning can leverage the data from these sensors to assist in tracking health issues like respiratory problems and fevers.
  • The article also presents a proposed deep learning method for detecting COVID-19 using this WBAN while addressing challenges of imperfect communication between sensors and the central unit due to environmental interference.

We propose a novel cluster based cooperative spectrum sensing algorithm to save the wastage of energy, in which clusters are formed using fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering and a cluster head (CH) is selected based on a sensor's location within each cluster, its location with respect to fusion center (FC), its signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and its residual energy. The sensing information of a single sensor is not reliable enough due to shadowing and fading. To overcome these issues, cooperative spectrum sensing schemes were proposed to take advantage of spatial diversity.
