The use of fungicides in the postharvest treatment of mangoes has been widespread due to the incidence of pathogens, but awareness of the health risks arising from their use has increased, driving the search for more sustainable treatments. This study aimed to evaluate the activity of antifungal treatment of seven essential oils (EO) against four fungi that cause postharvest diseases in mangoes and define the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and chemical composition, analyzed by gas chromatography (GC-MS). The results showed that the EOs of oregano, rosemary pepper, cinnamon bark, and clove inhibited 100% of the mycelial growth of the studied pathogens, with MIC ranging from 250 to 2000 μL.

Samples of blood serum from 10 patients positive and 10 patients negative for COVID-19 by RT-PCR RNA and ELISA tests were analyzed. Raman spectra were obtained with a dispersive Raman spectrometer (830 nm, 350 mW) in triplicate, being submitted to exploratory analysis with principal component analysis (PCA) to identify the spectral differences and discriminant analysis with PCA (PCA-DA) and partial least squares (PLS-DA) for classification of the blood serum spectra into Control and COVID-19.

Materials And Methods: We performed an analysis of prospectively collected data of consecutive patients 80 years of age or older who underwent RC and ureterocutaneostomy in 6 primary care European urology centers. Frailty was measured using a simplified frailty index (sFI) with a 5-item score including: (1) diabetes mellitus; (2) functional status; (3) chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; (4) congestive cardiac failure; and (5) hypertension, with a maximum 5-item score meaning high level of frailty.
Purpose: To compare the safety of on- vs off-clamp robotic partial nephrectomy (RAPN).
Methods: 302 patients with RENAL masses ≤ 10 were randomized to undergo on-clamp (150) vs off-clamp (152) RAPN (CLOCK trial-ClinicalTrials.gov NCT02287987) at seven institutions by one experienced surgeon per institution.
Purpose: We sought to identify predictive factors of the transition from off clamp to on clamp robotic partial nephrectomy following an intraoperative decision.
Materials And Methods: In the multicenter, randomized, prospective CLOCK (CLamp vs Off Clamp the Kidney during robotic partial nephrectomy) trial 152 and 149 of the 301 patients with a localized renal mass were assigned to undergo off clamp and on clamp robotic partial nephrectomy, respectively. Surgery was done at a total of 7 referral institutions by 1 surgeon per institution.
The objectives of this study were to elaborate an edible coating based on sodium alginate with probiotic potential and to evaluate the coating's performance with respect to microbial viability and the characteristics of safety and freshness of minimally processed carrots stored at 8 ± 2 °C. Prompted by the disadvantages of conventional colonoscopy (CC), we assessed the diagnostic ability of a promising alternative technique for detecting endoluminal masses: magnetic resonance colonography (MRC).
Methods: Seventy consecutive patients referred for CC underwent preliminary MRC.
Purpose: The aim of the present study was to compare the accuracy of endorectal coil magnetic resonance imaging with transrectal ultrasound in staging rectal carcinoma.
Methods: Twenty-six consecutive patients with rectal carcinoma, histologically proven by endoscopic biopsy, were staged with both endorectal coil magnetic resonance imaging and transrectal ultrasound and then underwent radical surgery. The preoperative staging was compared with histologic findings of the operative specimen according to TNM classification.
