Background: Cerebral metastases are not sharply delimitatable; therefore, microsurgical circumferential stripping of intracerebral metastases is often insufficient for preventing local tumor recurrence. Supramarginal resection significantly improves local tumor control but was suggested not to be suitable for metastases in eloquent brain areas.
