Objective: Lower extremity computed tomography angiography (CTA) is frequently used for anatomic assessment of lower extremity peripheral arterial disease. When lower extremity bypass is planned, duplex ultrasound (DUS) is routinely obtained to evaluate the great saphenous vein (GSV) for use as conduit. Although GSV can be visualized on CTA images, diameter assessment is not routinely included in formal study interpretation.

With occlusion or stenosis of the celiac and superior mesenteric arteries (SMA) collateral blood flow between mesenteric vessels is common and frequently act as the sole blood supply to the intestine. We present a rare case of chronic mesenteric ischemia in which the main blood supply to the celiac and SMA were collaterals coming off the right renal artery resulting in renal-splachnic steal.

Despite promising early results reported in the literature, the proper patient population who might benefit from laser atherectomy has yet to be determined.
Methods: From July 2004 to June 2006, patients undergoing laser atherectomy were retrospectively reviewed and assessed for comorbidities, operative and follow-up variables potentially associated with the end points of nondefinitive therapy, and limb salvage.
The use of lateral mass screws for posterior cervical fixation has become widespread. It allows for stable fixation in the absence of the posterior elements and confers immediate stability. Lateral mass fixation has been shown to impart equal or greater biomechanical stability when compared to posterior interosseous wiring or anterior plating.

Despite the frequency of dural tears in spinal surgery, meningitis is a rare complication reported to occur with a frequency of 0.18%. To the best of our knowledge, no case of Acinetobacter baumanii meningitis has been reported in the literature after a dural tear secondary to lumbar spine discectomy.
