Operating room (OR) efficiency is a critical factor in healthcare delivery, influenced by various components including surgical duration, room turnover, staff availability, and equipment preparation. Optimizing surgical start times through systematic strategies such as computational algorithms can significantly enhance OR utilization and management. This study aimed to improve OR efficiency by effectively managing and optimizing surgical start times using a computational algorithm designed to allocate resources more efficiently.

Using Potential Years of Life Lost (PYLL) to Compare Premature Mortality between Romanian Counties to Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in 2020 and 2021.

This article examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on potential years of life lost (PYLL) in Romania's counties in 2020 and 2021. PYLL highlights the burden of premature deaths in a community and is a useful tool for prioritizing community health issues. The study compares the PYLL variation between different counties, identifying disparities in premature mortality rates and highlighting areas that require specific public health interventions.

The influence of the merger process between two tertiary hospitals in Romania on job satisfaction among staff.

Aim: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of the merger process of two tertiary hospitals located in the northwest of Romania on the professional satisfaction among medical and non-medical staff and to develop a standardized satisfaction questionnaire for romanian hospitals.

Methods: 1750 questionnaires distributed within County Clinical Emergency Hospital Bihor (CCEHBh) ten months and one year and four months after the merger process were analyzed.

Results: The percentage of staff who declare themselves satisfied with their work one year and four months after the merger is 80.
