Introduction: The World Health Organization (WHO) advocates for the strengthening of education and training in infection prevention and control (IPC) in higher educational institutions (HEIs). This is fundamental to ensure health science students are confident and competent in clinical practice.
Aim: Explore the preparedness of undergraduate health science students for IPC practice.
Background: Diabetic foot disease (DF) is a common diabetes-related complication; however, the prevalence and associated risk factors for DF are not well characterised among people living with diabetes (PLWD) in Zimbabwe. This may suggest the unavailability of adequate strategies to diagnose and treat DF in the country. Background And Aims: The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged both institutional and self-management of diabetes. The ongoing social distancing and lock downs have negatively impacted to access to care and self-management.
Methods: This is a narrative review of diabetes management in a resource limited setting during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
