From the body of the rat uterus, the lymph outflows into the caudal lymph nodes and when the latter are absent--into the iliac lymph nodes. From the medial and middle parts of the uterine horn the lymph out flows into the iliac lymph nodes, and from the lateral part of the uterine horn--into the renal lymph nodes. Some parts of the lymph outflows into corresponding contralateral lymph nodes.

The first type--nutrition is mainly performed at the expense of maternal proteins, which in the placental chorion undergo proteolysis with formation of polypeptides and amino acids; embryospecific proteins are formed in the liver of the embryo. This type is characteristic for the animals with epithelio-chorionic acid and partly with desmo-chorionic placentas.

Changes of a destructive and adaptational character have been revealed in the extraplacental coats in late toxicoses of pregnant women by histological, histochemical and spectrophotometrical methods. The intesity of the apotomical way of the glucose oxidation decreased in the aminiotic epithelium. While the activity of enzymes converting the lipid decomposition products into glycolysis increased.
