Pseudocarcinomatous Hyperplasia Masquerading as a Well-Differentiated Squamous Cell Carcinoma Associated With Primary Cutaneous Anaplastic Large-Cell Lymphoma.

Pseudocarcinomatous hyperplasia (PCH) is a reactive proliferation of the epidermis associated with CD30 + lymphoproliferative disorders. In this article, we report the case of a 42-year-old man who presented with a 10-year history of a solitary erythematous patch on the right thigh that progressed to an ulcerated, crusted plaque. Histologic examination revealed an infiltrate of atypical CD30 + lymphocytes consistent with primary cutaneous anaplastic large-cell lymphoma with overlying well differentiated keratinocyte hyperplasia akin to a well-differentiated invasive squamous cell carcinoma.

Voice and Airway Outcomes of Montgomery T-tube Placement in Laryngotracheal Stenosis.

Objectives: To describe voice and airway outcomes and complications experienced by patients with laryngotracheal stenosis following Montgomery T-tube placement.

Methods: Retrospective chart review of all patients with laryngotracheal stenosis and Montgomery T-tube placement treated at a tertiary referral center from 2012 to 2021.

Results: Eighteen patients met criteria with laryngotracheal stenosis, seven including the level of the glottis and 11 without glottal involvement.

Effects of Cough Suppression Therapy on Voice Disorder Severity.

Objectives//hypothesis: To determine changes in voice severity when treating chronic cough refractory to medical treatment with cough suppression therapy (CST) in patients with chronic cough and voice complaints. Chronic cough has been reported to be refractory to medical treatment and frequently co-occurs with voice disorders. The possible effects of CST on self-assessed changes in chronic cough and voice disorders have not been demonstrated.

Consideration in Microvascular Reconstruction during Times of Social Crises: Perspectives on Resource Utilization.

Reconstruction of head and neck surgical defects can be a complicated, costly process. While the era of cost-effective medicine has begun to broadly question the necessity of high-cost care, times of extraordinary sociomedical demand bring increased scrutiny to even routine costs and resource utilization. Within this context, we reviewed the advantages, drawbacks, and financial costs of both regional and free flap reconstructions, namely the decreased costs and hospital resource utilization that may be associated with reconstruction using regional flaps.
