Purpose: This study aimed to establish a nomogram combining 31-gene signature (31-GS), radiosensitivity index (RSI), and radiation-resistance-related gene index (RRRI) to predict recurrence in prostate cancer (PCa) patients.

Methods And Materials: Transcriptome data of PCa were obtained from gene expression omnibus and the cancer genome atlas to validate the predictive potential of 3 sets of published biomarkers, namely, 31-GS, RSI, and RRRI. To adjust these markers for the characteristics of PCa, we analyzed 4 PCa-associated radiosensitivity predictive indices based on 31-GS, RSI, and RRRI by the Cox analysis and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression analysis.

Wide-band gap perovskite with adjustable band gaps can be integrated with organic solar cells to form tandem solar cells (TSCs), thereby surpassing the Shockley-Queisser limit. However, increasing Br content to elevate the band gap above 1.8 eV complicates crystallization, leading to inferior film quality and defects due to the unmanageable evolution of intermediate phases.

The escape of organic cations over time from defective perovskite interface leads to non-stoichiometric terminals, significantly affecting the stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). How to stabilize the interface composition under environmental stress remains a grand challenge. To address this issue, we utilize thiol-functionalized particles as a "seed" and conduct in situ polymerization of 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutyl methacrylate (HFMA) as a "root" at the bottom of the perovskite layer.

A strong n-type perovskite layer is crucial in achieving high open-circuit voltage (V) and power conversion efficiency (PCE) in the p-i-n solar cells, as the weak n-type perovskites result in a loss of V, and the p-type perovskites contain numerous electron traps that cause the severe carrier recombination. Here, three types of perylene diimide (PDI) based small molecule dopants with different dimensions, including 1D-PDI, 2D-PDI, and 3D-PDI are designed, to produce heavier n-type perovskites. The PDI-based molecules with Selenium atoms have a strong electron-donating ability, effectively enlarging the quasi-Fermi level splitting within the perovskites.

Two-dimensional/three-dimensional (2D/3D) halide perovskite heterojunctions are widely used to improve the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells. However, interfacial defects between the 2D and 3D perovskites and the poor coverage of the 2D capping layer still hinder long-term stability and homogeneous charge extraction. Herein, a surface planarization strategy on 3D perovskite is developed that enables an epitaxial growth of uniform 2D/3D perovskite heterojunction via a vapor-assisted process.

Background: Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification of RNA play pivotal roles in tumorigenesis and cancer progression. However, knowledge regarding the expression patterns of m6A-related lncRNAs and their corresponding m6A regulators in prostate cancer (PCa) is limited. This study aimed to delineate the landscape of m6A-related lncRNAs, develop a predictive model, and identify the critical m6A regulators of prognostic lncRNAs in PCa.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study explores how bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) leads to fibrosis and elevated pressure in the bladder, focusing on the role of a mechanosensitive channel called Piezo1.
  • - Researchers used immunofluorescence staining and cultured bladder fibroblasts under different pressure conditions to analyze Piezo1 activity and the effects of various agonists and inhibitors.
  • - The findings reveal that high hydrostatic pressure enhances Piezo1 expression, promotes fibroblast proliferation, and increases pro-fibrotic factors, indicating that Piezo1 activation may worsen bladder fibrosis.

Blade-coating stands out as an alternative for fabricating scalable perovskite solar cells. However, it demands special control of the precursor composition regarding nucleation and crystallization and currently exhibits lower performance than the spin-coating process. It is mainly the resulting film morphology and excess lead iodide (PbI) distribution that influences the optoelectronic properties.

Under the influence of development strategies with regard to national fitness and health in China, the interactive development between national fitness and national health is becoming increasingly strong. To explore the coupling and coordination relationship between national fitness and national health, this paper conducts an empirical analysis of the coupling and coordination relationship between national fitness and national health in 11 provinces and cities in Eastern China using the entropy weight method, a coupling coordination model, spatial visualization of the coupling coordination degree and spatial autocorrelation analysis. The research confirms that the comprehensive development level of national fitness and national health in Eastern China shows a steady upward trend, with a lag in national fitness as a whole, and that the growth rate of national fitness development is faster than that of national health development.

Chronic prostatic inflammation promotes cell survival and fibrosis, leading to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with aggravated urinary symptoms. It is investigated whether yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1), an organ size controller and mechanical transductor, is implicated in inflammation-induced BPH. The correlation between YAP1 expression and fibrosis in human and rat BPH specimens is analyzed.

The ability for bladder to perceive and analyze mechanical stimuli, such as stretch and filling, is crucial for its functions, such as urinary storage and voiding. The Piezo channel family, including Piezo1 and Piezo2, represents one of the most essential mechanosensitive ion channels in mammals and is involved in a wide array of physiological and pathological processes. It has been demonstrated in numerous investigations that Piezo channels play a key role in mechanical transduction in various types of cells in bladder by converting mechanical stimuli into biological signals.

The quality of two-step processed perovskites is significantly influenced by the distribution of organic amine salts. Especially, modulating the distribution of organic amine salts remains a grand challenge for sequential vapor-deposited perovskites due to the blocking effect of bottom compact PbI. Herein, an ultrahigh humidity treatment strategy is developed to facilitate the diffusion of formamidinium iodide (FAI) from the top surface to the buried bottom interface on the sequential vapor-deposited bilayer structure.

Stability and scalability are essential and urgent requirements for the commercialization of perovskite solar cells (PSCs), which are retarded by the non-ideal interface leading to non-radiative recombination and degradation. Extensive efforts are devoted to reducing the defects at the perovskite surface. However, the effects of the buried interface on the degradation and non-radiative recombination need to be further investigated.

RNA activation, as a method of regulating gene expression at the transcriptional level, is far less widely used than RNA interference because of the insufficient understanding of the mechanism and the unstable success rate. It is necessary to analyze the failure cases of RNA activation to promote the application of RNA activation. When we validated the saRNAs designed to induce KLK1 expression, we found that saKLK1-374 can upregulate KLK1 expression in prostate tumor cell lines, but failed in normal prostate cell lines.

The major obstacle to integrating perovskite photodiodes for dynamic imaging is the optoelectrical crosstalk among the pixels. Herein, a perovskite photodiode-blocking diode (PIN-BD) crossbar array with pixel-wise rectifying property by the vapor deposition method is presented.
