Glyphosate (N-[phosphonomethyl] glycine, GLY) is the active ingredient of the most widely used commercialized herbicide, and its use increases the potential for co-occurrence with flame retardants such as Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA), posing a threat to aquatic systems and food safety. Therefore, it is important to prioritize evaluating these two compounds' combined toxicity. However, only a few studies have analyzed the effects of pollutant mixing on fish from the perspectives of molecular and nutritional components.

Background: A20, also known as TNF-α-induced protein 3 (TNFAIP3), is a crucial negative regulator of inflammation and immune responses. Emerging evidence suggests that A20 is involved in the regulation of glucose metabolism and plays a significant role in bone metabolic diseases by inhibiting nuclear factor (NF)-κB activation. However, the potential relationship between serum A20 level and bone mineral density (BMD) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has not been explored.

However, most of the clinical applications of purslane are freshly prepared decoction, not as easy to apply as cream, because the decoction is easy to breed bacteria and easy to oxidize. Here, based on the theory of Chinese medicines compatibility, we made a purslane-tannic acid hydrogel (PL-HATA) by simple methods under mild conditions to solve the drawbacks of easy oxidation and inconvenience of use of Purslane.

And the association between urine albumin to creatinine ratio (ACR) and an increased risk of hip fracture in patients with T2DM remains controversial. This study aimed to investigate the association between urinary ACR and hip fracture risk in postmenopausal women and aged men with T2DM.

Phase solubility studies indicated that these four CDs can form 1:1 type complexes with Kae and that HP-β-CD demonstrated the most significant solubilizing effect on Kae. Among the CDs tested, HP-β-CD demonstrated the most significant solubilizing effect on Kae.

Thyroid cancer is one of the common types of cancer worldwide, and Ultrasound (US) imaging is a modality normally used for thyroid cancer diagnostics. The American College of Radiology Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data System (ACR TIRADS) has been widely adopted to identify and classify US image characteristics for thyroid nodules. This paper presents novel methods for detecting the characteristic descriptors derived from TIRADS.

Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) is the most-produced brominated flame retardant, which can be found in various industrial and household products. Studies have shown that TBBPA has hepatotoxicity, and could pose a risk to aquatic animals. The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and mitochondria are two important organelles that are highly dynamic in cells, the homeostasis and orchestrated interactions of which are crucial to maintaining cellular function.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFLiquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) are shape-morphing materials whose large and reversible shape transformations are caused by the coupling between the mobile anisotropic properties of liquid crystal (LC) units and the rubber elastic of polymer networks. Their shape-changing behaviors under certain stimuli are largely directed by the LC orientation; therefore, various strategies have been developed to spatially modulate the LC alignments. However, most of these methods are limited as they require complex fabrication technologies or have intrinsic limitations in applicability.

In order to enhance the hydrophilic performance of PET/PA6, many methods have been applied, but the effects are not obvious.
