Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has caused a persistent lowering of (), which is commonly found in children with respiratory tract infections (RTIs). However, in 2023, we observed an unusually high number of infections among children from Tianjin, the second largest city in northern China. This study sought to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of children with RTIs caused by in northern China post COVID-19, in order to provide a theoretical basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Hantaviruses are the major causative agents of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in humans, which is characterized by increased capillary permeability. Dentin matrix protein 1 (DMP1) has been shown to degrade components of the basal membrane and interendothelial junctions via matrix metalloproteinase-9. To study the changes of serum DMP1 in HFRS, we determined the concentration of DMP1 using sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
