Background: Faculty development programs (FDPs) in health professions education (HPE) are instrumental in supporting, promoting, and improving HPE curricula and activities that target individual- and system-level capacity strengthening. FAIMER, a division of Intealth, has been offering FDPs for global health professions educators in HPE and leadership for over two decades through the International FAIMER Institute in the USA and FAIMER Regional Institutes located globally. This paper explores perceptions of former program participants (Fellows) of FAIMER global FDPs by eliciting their success stories.

Article Synopsis
  • Photoaffinity probes help identify proteins that bind to small molecules, but pinpointing the exact binding sites is tricky.
  • We created a new chemoproteomic workflow that uses unique features of probe-modified peptides to accurately locate these binding sites within cells.
  • Our research resulted in a comprehensive map of small-molecule binding sites on proteins, enhancing experimental efficiency and providing detailed insights into how these interactions work in real biological systems.

Immune checkpoint blockade therapies have generated efficacious responses in certain tumor types; however, the responses of breast carcinomas have been largely limited. Moreover, the identity of various parameters that can predict responses to immunotherapies, and at the same time, serve as putative biomarkers that can be therapeutically targeted to enhance the effectiveness of immunotherapies for breast cancers, remains to be comprehensively delineated. Activation of epithelial-mesenchymal plasticity in cancer cells, including those of the breast, increases their tumor-initiating potential and promotes their aggressiveness and resistance to multiple treatment regimens.
