Objective: The incidence of chronic and recurrent abdominal pain increases every year, while the diagnosis is still unsatisfactory even after a number of check-ups. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnosis value of capsule endoscopy in patients suffering from chronic and recurrent abdominal pain.

Methods: A retrospective case study was performed in 80 chronic and recurrent abdominal pain patients at Xiangyang Central Hospital from January 2013 to November 2017.

Soda residue (SR), a solid waste generated in the production of NaCO during the ammonia soda process, with a high pH value of 12, can be used as an activator of alkali-activated ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) cementitious materials. Three groups of experiments on SR-activated GGBFS mortars were designed in this paper to assess the role of the dominant parameters on fluidity and compressive strength of mortars. The results indicate that for fluidity and mechanical properties, the optimal scheme of SR-activated GGBFS mortars is 16:84-24:76 S/G, 0.

Background: Importin 7 (IPO7) belongs to the Importin β family and is implicated in the progression of diverse human malignancies. This work is performed to probe the role of IPO7 in pancreatic cancer development and its potential downstream mechanisms.

Methods: IPO7 expression in PC and paracancerous tissues were measured using Immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining and qRT-PCR.

Soda residue (SR), an industrial solid waste, pollutes the environment due to its high alkalinity and chloride ion content. SR can be used as an alkali activator of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS). This study investigated the effects of four types of SR-activated GGBFS cementitious materials (pastes) with different mass ratios of SR to GGBFS (8:92, 16:84, 24:76, 34:68) on the physical properties, mechanical strength, and chloride binding capacity.

Objective: The clinical management of gastric cancer still remains challenge due to its poor response to chemotherapy. Better understanding the underlying mechanisms is required for the identification of more comprehensive therapies to overcome chemoresistance in gastric cancer.

Materials And Methods: GBA1 level was systematically analyzed in gastric cancer patients before and after chemotherapy, and gastric cancer cells exposed to long-term chemo agent's treatment.

Soda residue (SR), the solid waste of NaCO produced by ammonia soda process, pollutes water and soil, increasing environmental pressure. SR has high alkalinity, and its main components are Ca(OH), NaCl, CaCl, CaSO, and CaCO, which accords with the requirements of being an alkali activator. The aim of this research is to investigate the best proportion of SR addition and the contribution of individual chemical components in SR to SR- activated ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) cementitious materials.

In this study, we investigated the potential prognostic value of ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2D1 () RNA expression in different histological subtypes of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A retrospective study was performed by using molecular, clinicopathological, and survival data in the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA)-Lung Cancer. Results showed that both lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) ( = 514) and lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC) ( = 502) tissues had significantly elevated RNA expression compared to the normal tissues ( < 0.

Article Synopsis
  • The study looked at how a chemical called 3-bromopyruvate affects cancer cells known as CD133+ U87 glioma cells, which are a type of brain tumor cells.
  • It found that 3-bromopyruvate makes these cancer cells smaller and stops them from growing, especially when used at a certain concentration after 48 hours.
  • The treatment also showed signs of damaging the cancer cells, like changes to their membranes and DNA, and it helps target these cells better than regular U87 cells.

Background And Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the expression and prognostic roles of human ether à go-go related gene (hERG1) potassium channels in resected esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

Methods: Expression of hERG1 protein and mRNA was detected by immunohistochemistry and reverse transcription PCR in resected esophageal squamous cell carcinomas (ESCCs) and non-cancerous matched tissues, and the correlation was examined between expression of hERG1 protein and clinicopathological factors and prognosis of ESCC patients.

Results: Frequency of positive expression of hERG1 protein was 77.
