Aim: This study was designed to investigate the response of the respiratory structures to orthognathic surgery in patients with Class III malocclusion, with a specific emphasis on the vertical placement of the hyoid bone. The correlations of these changes were also analysed, followed by further subgroup analyses based on preoperative conditions.

Materials And Methods: Dolphin software was used to obtain cephalometric landmarks, airway and hyoid bone measurements from pre- and postoperative CBCT scans of 31 patients.

Chronic wound, such as skin defect after burn, pressure ulcer, and diabetic foot ulcer is very difficult to cure. Its pathological process is often accompanied with local temperature rise, pH decrease, and other phenomena. Owing to their outstanding hydrophilic, biocompatibility, and responsive properties, hydrogels could accelerate the healing process.

Macrophages play a distinctive role in the early stage of inflammation after cartilage defects. Previous studies have shown that macrophages can express different phenotypes, among which M2 polarization is important to maintain the balance of the inflammatory microenvironment and promote cartilage regeneration. In this study, 4-octyl itaconic acid (4-OI), a derivative of the endogenous metabolite itaconic acid, was used to regulate the polarization behavior of macrophages and enhance cartilage repair.

Cardiovascular disease has become one of the most globally prevalent diseases, and autologous or vascular graft transplantation has been the main treatment for the end stage of the disease. However, there are no commercialized small-diameter vascular graft (SDVG) products available. The design of SDVGs is promising in the future, and SDVG preparation using an bioreactor is a favorable method, but it faces the problem of long-term culture of >8 weeks.

Gastric cancers, with gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) as the most common histological type, cause quite a few of deaths. In order to improve the survival rate after GAC treatment, it is important to develop a method for early detection and therapy support of GAC. Raman spectroscopy is a potential tool for probing cancer cell due to its real-time and non-destructive measurements without any additional reagents.

Background: Generally, posterior malleolar fragments are fixed either with percutaneous anteroposterior screws or through a posterolateral approach using screws and/or a buttress plate. Both surgical methods have some shortcomings, and the use of anteroposterior screws to fix osteoporotic posterior malleolar fractures carries a risk of failure.

Methods: Nine elderly patients (average age, 67 years) with posterior malleolar fractures were treated with transfibular Kirschner wire tension band fixation.

Enhancer of zeste homologue 2 (EZH2) is a clarified promoter in a list of tumours, including osteosarcoma (OS). Our research was projected to define the mechanism involved in EZH2-mediated OS progression through the protein kinase B (AKT)/glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) pathway. EZH2 expression was tested in 66 OS tissues and five osteosarcoma cell lines (143B, SJSA-1, HOS, MG63, and U2OS).

We detected PD-L1 and intra-tumoral CD8 T lymphocytes (CD8 TIL) in 19 patients with esophageal carcinosarcoma (ECS). The median follow-up period of these patients was 43 months, and the three- and five-year survival rates were 78.9 and 63.
