Updates on infectious diseases of largemouth bass: A major review.

The largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) is native to North America and has now become a crucial economic species in aquaculture. With the rapid development of high-density intensive farming models, the continuous emergence and spread of diseases pose significant challenges to the sustainable development of largemouth bass aquaculture, including Micropterus salmoides rhabdovirus (MSRV), largemouth bass virus (LMBV), Nocardia spp. and Aeromonas spp.

Detection of sulphur(II) of carbon dots synthesized from residue.

The detection of anions using carbon dots (CDs) has received less attention compared to cations. Therefore, the present study aimed to develop a fluorescence sensor based on carbon dots (CDs) capable of detecting S in real water samples. The CDs were successfully prepared from the residues of a traditional Chinese herb, , which emitted green photoluminescence (PL) under ultraviolet light irradiation.

Design, synthesis and inhibitory activity against Candida albicans of a series of derivatives with 5-nitrofuran scaffold.

The increasing resistance of Candida albicans against the currently available antifungal drugs has exerted enormous damage to human health. To develop novel and efficient antifungal agents with unique structure, a series of derivatives containing 5-nitrofuran scaffold (33 examples) were designed, synthesized, and screened the in vitro antifungal activities. Bioassay results disclosed that 5-nitrofuran derivatives could dramatically inhibit the growth of six strains of Candida albicans, particularly the drug-resistant clinical ones.

Experimental Study on Forged TC4 Titanium Alloy Fatigue Properties under Three-Point Bending and Life Prediction.

Ultrasonic fatigue tests of TC4 titanium alloy equiaxed I, II and bimodal I, II obtained by different forging processes were carried out in the range from 10 to 10 cycles using 20 kHz three-point bending. The results showed that the S-N curves had different shapes, there was no traditional fatigue limit, and the bimodal I had the best comprehensive fatigue performance. The fracture morphology was analyzed by SEM, and it was found that the fatigue cracks originated from the surface or subsurface facets, showing a transgranular quasi-cleavage fracture mechanism.

[Effect of testosterone propionate on condition and prognosis of sepsis patients].

Objective: To investigate the effect of testosterone propionate injection on the condition and prognosis of patients with sepsis.

Methods: The clinical data of 61 sepsis patients admitted to the department of intensive care medicine, Weinan Central Hospital from June 2009 to October 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were treated with anti-infection, control of infection sources, organ function support, nutrition enhancement and supportive treatment.

Hardness of covalent crystals.

Based on the idea that the hardness of covalent crystal is intrinsic and equivalent to the sum of the resistance to the indenter of each bond per unit area, a semiempirical method for the evaluation of hardness of multicomponent crystals is presented. Applied to beta-BC2N crystal, the predicted value of hardness is in good agreement with the experimental value. It is found that bond density or electronic density, bond length, and degree of covalent bonding are three determinative factors for the hardness of a polar covalent crystal.
