Background: Post-cardiopulmonary resuscitation brain injury (PBI) is essentially the cerebral ischemia reperfusion (CIR) injury, which is the main cause of death and long-term disability in patients with cardiac arrest. So far, there is no treatment for PBI; thus, it is urgent to develop new drugs or therapies for the prevention and treatment of brain injury after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Although multiple constituent herbs or active ingredients of Xinbao Pill (XBP) have shown neuroprotective effects, whether XBP could play a therapeutic role on PBI is still unknown.

This study presents a novel microspectrometer-integrated microfluidic system for real-time protein concentration monitoring. The device employs electrokinetic principles for efficient protein preconcentration in a PDMS and Nafion film channel. White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is a large nuclear-replicating DNA virus of crustaceans such as shrimp and crayfish; however, the molecular mechanisms facilitating its transport from the invasion site to the cell nucleus have not yet been well elucidated. In this study, a CqProfilin (CqPFN) with a conserved PROF domain was identified from the red claw crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus. CqPFN was ubiquitously expressed in all examined tissues and hemocyte, with the highest levels in the hemocyte, followed by hematopoietic tissue (Hpt) from which the hemocyte were derived in crayfish.
