Ultrasound (US)-mediated sonodynamic therapy (SDT) has received extensive attention in pathogen elimination for non-invasiveness and high spatial and temporal accuracy. Considering that hydrogel can provide a healing-friendly environment for wounds, in this work, hybrid hydrogels are constructed by embedding Ag doped TiO nanoparticles in chitosan-polyvinyl alcohol hydrogels for enhanced sonodynamic antibacterial therapy. With metal silver doped, TiO nanoparticles sonosensitivity is improved to generate more reactive oxygen species (ROS), which endows hybrid hydrogels with high-efficient antibacterial properties.

Background: The Guangzhou Nutrition and Health Study (GNHS) aims to assess the determinants of metabolic disease in nutritional aspects, as well as other environmental and genetic factors, and explore possible biomarkers and mechanisms with multi-omics integration.
Methods: The population-based sample of adults in Guangzhou, China (baseline: 40-83 years old; n = 5,118) was followed up about every 3 years. All are tracked via on-site follow-up and health information systems.
Purpose: To evaluate the performance of a deep learning (DL)-based artificial intelligence (AI) hierarchical diagnosis software, EyeWisdom V1 for diabetic retinopathy (DR).
Materials And Methods: The prospective study was a multicenter, double-blind, and self-controlled clinical trial. Non-dilated posterior pole fundus images were evaluated by ophthalmologists and EyeWisdom V1, respectively.
Background: Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disease that is associated with recurrent pregnancy loss. It is still controversial whether the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) in the serum of patients with in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) has a negative effect on the outcomes. In view of the discrepancies, a meta-analysis of the published data was performed to explore the relationship of aPL and IVF-ET outcomes.

Objective: This study examined the association of gut microbiome dysbiosis with osteoporosis and explored the potential pathways through which this association occurs using fecal and serum metabolomics.
Methods: We analyzed the composition of the gut microbiota by 16S rRNA profiling and bone mineral density using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry in 1776 community-based adults.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between starchy vegetable consumption and subgroup consumption in the first trimester and the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
Methods: A prospective study ( = 1444) was conducted in China. Dietary information was assessed by 24-hour dietary recalls for three days and then we calculated the consumption of total starchy vegetable and its subgroups, including (1) potato and (2) other starchy vegetable (pumpkin, lotus root, yam, taro, water chestnut, pea, and cowpea).
Poor room-temperature ionic conductivity and lithium dendrite formation are the main issues of solid electrolytes. In this work, rod-shaped alumina incorporation and graphite coating were simultaneously applied to poly (propylene carbonate) (PPC)-based polymer solid electrolytes (Wang et al., 2018).

Objective: To investigate the dairy product intake during pregnancy in Southwest China and to explore its relationship with neonatal birth body mass.
Methods: A prospective study was conducted to select healthy singleton pregnant women at 8-14 weeks of gestation in a maternal and fetal health care institution in Chengdu City. Dairy product consumption during the first, second, third trimester of pregnancy were collected by 24-hour dietary recalls at 8-14 weeks, 24-28 weeks and 32-36 weeks of pregnancy, respectively, and the total milk intake and milk consumption rate were calculated.
Objective: To examine the association of erythrocyte n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) biomarkers with incident type 2 diabetes and explore the potential role of gut microbiota in the association.
Research Design And Methods: We evaluated 2,731 participants without type 2 diabetes recruited between 2008 and 2013 in the Guangzhou Nutrition and Health Study (Guangzhou, China). Case subjects with type 2 diabetes were identified with clinical and biochemical information collected at follow-up visits.
Background: The total and specific types of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) related to metabolic syndrome (MetS) remain inconsistent.
Objective: We assessed the association of erythrocyte n-3 and n-6 PUFAs with MetS and the components of MetS in a cohort population.
Methods: This prospective analysis included 2754 participants (aged 40-75 y) from the Guangzhou Nutrition and Health Study (2008-2019) in China.
Objective: α-fetoprotein (AFP) expression is activated during the embryonic stage or hepatocellular carcinogenesis, so it is presumed that AFP is a key endogenous molecule to promote cell proliferation or differentiation. We carried out gene screening in an unknown family with hyper-alpha-fetoproteinemia and some sporadic menopausal women, and discussed the relationship between AFP expression and liver cirrhosis.
Methods: Peripheral blood samples from family members, patients with malignant liver tumors, and normal controls were collected.
Objective: To evaluate the effects of gestational weight gain (GWG) in the first trimester (GWG-F) and the rate of gestational weight gain in the second trimester (RGWG-S) on gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), exploring the optimal GWG ranges for the avoidance of GDM in Chinese women.
Design: A population-based prospective study was conducted. Gestational weight was measured regularly in every antenatal visit and assessed by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) criteria (2009).
Purpose: Many studies have examined the association of isoflavone intake with type 2 diabetes (T2D), and produced inconsistent results. Few studies, however, explored the association using objective biomarkers (particular for daidzein metabolite-equol) of isoflavones. We aimed to explore the association of urinary equol, daidzein and genistein concentrations with T2D and examine the mediating roles of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) and retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4).

We investigated the cross-sectional and prospective associations between n-3 PUFAs and NAFLD in Chinese adults.
Methods: This community-based prospective study included 3049 men and women (40-75 years) in Guangzhou, China, whose participants completed an NAFLD ultrasound evaluation and erythrocyte PUFA tests.
Background & Aims: The association between circulating n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) biomarkers and incident type 2 diabetes in Asian populations remains unclear. We aimed to examine the association of erythrocyte n-3 PUFA with incident type 2 diabetes in a Chinese population.
Methods: A total of 2671 participants, aged 40-75 y, free of type 2 diabetes at baseline, were included in the present analysis.
The association between circulating saturated fatty acids (SFAs) and incident type 2 diabetes (T2D) is reported in Western populations with inconsistent results, while evidence from Asian populations is scarce. We aimed to examine the associations between erythrocyte SFAs and incident T2D in a Chinese population. Between 2008 and 2013, a total of 2683 participants, aged 40⁻75 years, free of diabetes were included in the present analyses.

Although DBS is widely used, its therapeutic mechanisms remain poorly understood. Recent research shows that seizures are network-level phenomena, but the incomplete knowledge of neural circuit function has left a gap in our understanding of how disruption at a molecular or cellular level generates epilepsy.

The antitumor effect of photodynamic therapy (PDT) mediated by a novel photosensitizer I (Ps I; {γ-[N-poly(ethyleneglycol)]folic acid}-5,10,15-tris(3-hydroxyphenyl)-20-(4-carboxyphenyl)chlorin), in which chlorin was used as a photoactive unit, folic acid as a tumor‑targeting warhead, and polyethylene glycol as a linker, on cervical carcinoma was studied in vitro and in vivo. Ps I exhibited a considerably higher cellular uptake by HeLa cells than folic acid-free analogue Ps A (tert-butyl N-poly(ethyleneglycol)ethylcarbamate-5,10,15-tris(3-hydroxyphenyl)-20-(4-carboxyphenyl)chlorin), and the cellular uptake by HeLa cells of Ps I could be competitively inhibited by excess folic acid. Moreover, at different time points after the intravenous (i.
