Objective: The predictive performances of CURB-65 and pneumonia severity index (PSI) were poor in patients with diabetes. This study aimed to develop a tool for predicting the short-term and long-term outcomes of CAP in patients with diabetes.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 531 CAP patients with type 2 diabetes.

Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted in Shenyang. The Framingham sex-specific risk equation was employed to evaluate the cardiovascular risk factors of 501 healthy study objects, calculate Framingham risk score and estimate the risk of 10-year coronary heart disease (CHD).
