Natural biopolymer-based liquid mulching films (LMF) have received widespread attention, whereas the fragile structure and limited functionality have severely restricted their application. Herein, polydopamine-coated montmorillonite micro/nanoparticles enhanced pectin-based sprayable multifunctional liquid mulching films (P-MMT@PDA LMF) were prepared. Dopamine has abundant active sites, and its self-polymerization onto the surface of MMT improves the compatibility of MMT with pectin chains, facilitates the homogeneous dispersion of MMT@PDA in pectin polymers, and makes them more tightly entangled through hydrogen bonding.

Drug-drug co-amorphous systems are a promising approach to improve the aqueous solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs. This study explores the combination of breviscapine (BRE) and matrine (MAT) form an amorphous salt, aiming to synergistically enhance the solubility and dissolution of BRE. Global changes and drug abuse are forcing humanity to face various disease problems, and alternative therapies with safe natural substances have important research value. This paper combines various techniques in quantum chemical calculations and molecular simulations to provide molecular-level insight into the dynamics of the self-assembly of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) for loading curcumin (CUR). The results indicate that increasing the chain length of NIPAM molecules reduces their efficiency in encapsulating and locking CUR, and electrostatic interactions and van der Waals interactions are the main driving forces behind the evolution of system configurations in these processes.

Insects detect and discriminate a diverse array of chemicals using odorant receptors (ORs), which are ligand-gated ion channels comprising a divergent odorant-sensing OR and a conserved odorant receptor co-receptor (Orco). In this work, we report structures of the OR5-Orco heterocomplex from the pea aphid alone and bound to its known activating ligand, geranyl acetate. The number of studies examining gender differences in the social relationship rewards associated with costly religious practice has been surprisingly low. Here, we use data from 289 residents of an agricultural Tibetan village to assess whether individuals are more inclined to establish supportive relationships with religious individuals in general and to investigate the gender disparities in the relationship between religiosity and personal network characteristics. Our results reveal that participation in religious rituals contributes to the overall development of social support networks.
