Unlabelled: Herpesviruses, including α-herpesvirus and herpes simplex virus (HSV-1), are masters of immune evasion. Previously we demonstrated that CD1d-restricted NKT cells are required for optimal anti-HSV-1 immune responses and HSV-1 efficiently downregulates CD1d to suppress NKT cell function. To delineate how the virus evades NKT cell function and establishes infection , we screened an HSV-1 expression library to identify the viral gene(s) downregulating CD1d and discovered that a leaky late gene, UL56, most efficiently suppresses CD1d expression by degrading the protein, apparently via both proteasome- and lysosome-dependent pathways.

Moreover, cancer patients frequently experience compromised immune systems, rendering them susceptible to bacterial infections. Combining anticancer and antibacterial properties in a single drug could lead to improved overall treatment outcomes and patient well-being.

The hematological, biochemical, and histological toxicities of ANAs were assessed at the doses of 5 and 50 μg per mouse. Radiolabeling study was then conducted with ANA and I using the chloramine T method, and the biodistribution and treatment efficacy were subsequently investigated in a PC3 xenograft model.

Method: A cross-sectional study using respondent-driven sampling and peer recruitment methods was conducted among YPUD aged 16-24 in three cities in Vietnam.

Tri An Reservoir is a vital source of water for agriculture, industry, hydropower, and public usage in Southern Vietnam. Due to human activities, water eutrophication has become a serious problem in recent decades. This study investigated for the first time the impact of land use and land cover (LULC) change on streamflow and nitrate load from the upstream Dong Nai River basin, which is the largest watershed of the reservoir.

Methods: This was a web-based cross-sectional survey with a sample of 17,176 teachers from kindergarten to high school who currently reside in Vietnam. A participant who exhibited "acceptance" towards the vaccine gave the following response: .
Despite improvements in medical care, the burden of sepsis remains high. In this study, we evaluated the incremental cost associated with postoperative sepsis and the impact of postoperative sepsis on clinical outcomes among surgical patients in Vietnam. We used the national database that contained 1,241,893 surgical patients undergoing seven types of surgery.

A mixed-methods study was conducted in four villages of Ca Dong and M'nong ethnicity in Central Vietnam between 2009 and 2011 to assess factors limiting the uptake of ITNs.
Methods: The mixed-methods research design consisted of a qualitative study to explore the context and barriers to ITN use, and a cross-sectional household survey (n = 141) to quantify factors for limited and appropriate net use.
The primary motor cortex (M1) is essential for voluntary fine-motor control and is functionally conserved across mammals. Here, using high-throughput transcriptomic and epigenomic profiling of more than 450,000 single nuclei in humans, marmoset monkeys and mice, we demonstrate a broadly conserved cellular makeup of this region, with similarities that mirror evolutionary distance and are consistent between the transcriptome and epigenome. The core conserved molecular identities of neuronal and non-neuronal cell types allow us to generate a cross-species consensus classification of cell types, and to infer conserved properties of cell types across species.

Among these nutrients, nitrogen and phosphorus are two of the most important harmful cyanobacterial bloom (HCB) drivers. A reliable prediction of these parameters, therefore, is necessary for the management of rivers, lakes, and reservoirs.

These flocks represent an intermediate category between backyard and intensive (industrial) farming systems. However, little is known about the occurrence and burden of disease and/or mortality in such flocks, and their potential association with antimicrobial usage (AMU).

To overcome this problem, unique lipid polymer hybrid (LPH) nanoparticles were developed with a pH-responsive PEG layer that detached prior to cell uptake. Docetaxel (DTX) was incorporated into the lipid core of the nanoparticles, which was then shielded with the pH-responsive block co-polymer polyethylene glycol-b-polyaspartic acid (PEG-b-PAsp) using a modified emulsion method.
