Introduction: The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends treatment and management of gestational diabetes (GD) through lifestyle changes, including diet and exercise, and self-monitoring blood glucose (SMBG) to inform timely treatment decisions. To expand the evidence base of WHO's guideline on self-care interventions, we conducted a systematic review of SMBG among pregnant individuals with GD.
Setting: Following PRISMA guidelines, we searched PubMed, CINAHL, LILACS, and EMBASE for publications through November 2020 comparing SMBG with clinic-based monitoring during antenatal care (ANC) globally.

Targeted disruption of PDE3 subfamily B (PDE3B), but not of PDE3 subfamily A (PDE3A), protected mouse heart from I/R injury in vivo and in vitro, with reduced infarct size and improved cardiac function. In the current study conjugates consisting of the α helical regions of PspA families 1 or 2 bound to Vi were used to vaccinate mice to test their ability to protect against a lethal intravenous challenge of a range of various strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae. Conjugate vaccine containing PspA family 1 provided good protection from PspA family 1 challenge strains but offered very little protection against PspA family 2 challenge strains.

Here we present the isolation and characterization of a new temperature-sensitive mutant, sun1 (septum uncontrolled), which undergoes uncontrolled septation during cell-division cycle at restrictive temperature (37 degrees C). In sun1 mutant, the actin ring and septum are positioned at random locations and angles, and the nuclear division cycle continues.
