The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical utility of minimal specimens acquired from endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) and perform targeted deep sequencing as a prognosis prediction tool for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). A total of 116 specimens with pathologically confirmed PDAC via EUS-FNB were tested using CancerSCAN panel for a customized targeted deep sequencing. Clinical prognostic factors significantly associated with survival in PDACs were as follows: stage, tumor mass size, tumor location, metastasis, chemotherapy, and initial CA19-9 level.

Background/aims: Recent advances in understanding the genetics of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) have led to the potential for a personalized approach. Background: Covered self-expandable metal stent (CSEMS) has the risk of obstruction of the cystic duct, and the main and branch pancreatic ducts due to strong radial force and covering material, which results in cholecystitis and pancreatitis. A flower-type covered self-expandable metal stent (F-CSEMS) having a five-petal-shaped design with side grooves was constructed to prevent the obstruction of the cystic duct orifice. This study investigated the value of the F-CSEMS in protection for cholecystitis in a pig model.

Background And Objectives: During coronary angiography and interventional procedures, catheters that are engaged in a coronary ostium are routinely flushed, typically with normal saline, to expel blood from the catheter or to inject a pharmacologic agent. Saline contains sodium and chloride ions. Such injections may affect the electrophysiologic properties of the myocardium; however, the effect of normal saline on ventricular repolarization has not been established in patients with variant angina.
