Integrating photocatalysis with electrocatalysis may represent a synergistic approach to address environmental and energy challenges. In this context, we explored synthesizing a series of nanocomposite materials using a solid-state approach involving simple grinding and subsequent thermal treatment for the photocatalytic purification of dinoseb and electrocatalytic oxygen evolution (OER). Interestingly, among the series of synthesized materials, 40 wt percentage of 3D/2D/1D:ZnFeO/NiAl-LDH/MWCNTs ternary nanocomposite (40-NZM) showed highly improved dinoseb detoxification and OER efficiencies compared to those of pure materials.

This study aimed to evaluate the characteristics, treatments, and prognosis of patients with MIBC compared to those with carcinoma in situ (CIS) or early invasive cancer.
Methods: Patients who diagnosed with CIS or stage I breast cancer were retrospectively enrolled.
Background: The demand for organ transplants, both globally and in South Korea, substantially exceeds the supply, a situation that might have been aggravated by the enactment of the Life-Sustaining Treatment Decision Act (LSTDA) in February 2018. This legislation may influence emergency medical procedures and the availability of organs from brain-dead donors. This study aimed to assess LSTDA's impact, introduced in February 2018, on organ donation status in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients in a metropolitan city and identified related factors.

Eighty-eight AYA survivors of childhood cancer with a median follow-up period of 73 months were recruited. RTL in pediatric cancer survivors was not significantly shorter than the predicted value for age-matched references.

This study explores the potential of serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) and serum glial fibrillary acidic protein (sGFAP) as screening biomarkers for BMs in LC patients. We conducted a retrospective analysis of 700 LC cases at the National Cancer Center, Korea, from July 2020 to June 2022, measuring sNfL and sGFAP levels at initial LC diagnosis.

The current systemic review aimed to assess the changes in MRI-determined hepatic proton density fat fraction (MRI-PDFF) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease activity score (NAS) after bariatric surgery or intragastric balloon/gastric banding in MASLD patients with obesity.
Methods: We searched various databases including PubMed, OVID Medline, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library.
Background: After neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC), the SLN identification rate is lower and has a higher false-negative rate than that at upfront surgery. This clinical trial aimed to confirm the effectiveness of sentinel lymph node (SLN) surgery by determining the lymph node identification rate using multimodal SLN marker methods in patients with advanced breast cancer undergoing NAC.
Patients And Methods: This clinical study is a prospective single-center randomized controlled trial involving patients with breast cancer receiving NAC.
Background: Interhospital transfer (IHT) is necessary for providing ultimate care in the current emergency care system, particularly for patients with severe trauma. However, studies on IHT during the pandemic were limited. Furthermore, evidence on the effects of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on IHT among patients with major trauma was lacking.

These activities make it a plausible candidate for pharmaceutical applications as a drug. However, the low expression level and stability of the recombinant hFGF7 were known to be major hurdles for further applications.

Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of a prospectively collected database that included all patients who underwent elective low anterior resection for rectal cancer between January 2013 and December 2019. The clinical outcomes included oncological outcomes, postoperative complications, and functional outcomes.
In this work, a simple and facile approach was employed for the preparation of the ternary hybrids comprising of titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and graphitic nitride (designated as TZG-TH) with varying compositions of the components. In the context of complex and multi-stages involved for preparation of many of the THs in the literature, the present work uses the much simpler mythology for the preparation of TH. Nanofluids (NF) were formulated in ethylene glycol: water base fluid using TZG TH as the solid particles.

We aimed to investigate pre and post operative biomarkers associated with thrombosis including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism in patients treated for ovarian cancer. We collected pre and post operative blood samples from 133 patients undergoing surgery for ovarian cancer between December 2021 and August 2022.

Patients And Methods: MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases were searched to identify relevant articles reporting clinical outcomes of rhTSH compared with thyroid hormone withdrawal (THW) in patients with intermediate- to high-risk differentiated thyroid cancer published between January 2012 and June 2023. Meta-analyses were performed (PROSPERO registration number: CRD42022340915) to assess the success rate of radioiodine remnant ablation (RRA) in patients with intermediate to high risk and determine the disease control rate among patients with distant metastases, evaluated using the RECIST criteria.
Objective: Patients with ovarian cancer have a high risk of developing thrombosis. We aimed to investigate laboratory parameters associated with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients treated for ovarian cancer.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed pre-operation laboratory data of patients with ovarian cancer for DVT at the National Cancer Center, Korea, between January 2000 and February 2021.
Rammed earth in a built environment has vapor diffusion characteristics and humidity control abilities, each of which is respectively attributed to the porous structures and the hydrophilic properties. Indeed, these structures and properties allow for the easy absorbance of water particles, hence affecting the durability of a rammed earth wall. This paper presents the water-repellency method for rammed earth walls, which utilizes siloxane copolymers containing fluorine.

The appropriate time of surgical treatment has the greatest impact on the prognosis of choledochal cyst treatment. The purpose of this study was to compare the clinical outcomes of prenatally diagnosed choledochal cysts in infants according to the surgical treatment timing.

In our previous study, we evaluated the temperature, humidity and contamination rates on the inner layer of masks according to the mask-wearing time. However, it is important to assess the contamination rates on the outer layer of masks used in dentistry as well.

Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD), or histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis, is a benign but rare disorder associated with febrile cervical lymphadenopathy in young adults. Here, we discuss a case of a young female patient presenting with left tender cervical lymphadenopathy that progressed bilaterally with a fever of unknown origin. Laboratory parameters showed persistent leukopenia, especially neutropenia, which fluctuated with the degree of symptom severity.
