Background And Aims: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) incidence is increasing and correlated with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD; formerly nonalcoholic fatty liver disease), even in patients without advanced liver fibrosis who are more likely to be diagnosed with advanced disease stages and shorter survival time, and less likely to receive a liver transplant. Machine learning (ML) tools can characterize large datasets and help develop predictive models that can calculate individual HCC risk and guide selective screening and risk mitigation strategies.

Methods: Tableau and KNIME Analytics were used for descriptive analytics and ML tasks.

We develop a thermoelectric generator based on catalytic combustion and operating in the low power range (up to 10 W). Considering the target of small-scale thermoelectric generators, the additive technique was chosen as an enabling technology to customize the different parts of the presented device. The generator consists of a hexagonal shaped combustion chamber coupled to commercial thermoelectric modules, water-cooled at the cold side.

Nanostructured cobalt oxide powders as electro catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in an alkaline membrane electrolysis cell (AME) were prepared by flame spray synthesis (FS); an AME's anode was then produced by depositing the FS prepared cobalt oxide powders on an AISI-316 sintered metal fiber by the electrophoretic deposition (EPD) method. In this work, the optical absorption properties of carbon nanoparticles are investigated by applying in-flow extinction and laser-induced incandescence measurements. Carbon nanoparticles are produced in an ethylene/air premixed flame and sampled at different heights above the burner. From extinction measurements, the absorption coefficient is obtained in a wide spectral range, considering the negligible scattering under our experimental conditions.

Cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase (CKX) is the only known enzyme associated with irreversible degradation of cytokinins in plants. CKX2 contains flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) domain. Earlier studies utilising antisense & hpRNAi suppression techniques in mutant/transgenic rice plants revealed that when CKX2 binds with FAD, CKX2 expression reduces, which in turn causes cytokinin aggregation in inflorescence meristem that subsequently enhances both branches and grain number resulting in increased grain yield.

In silico approach was utilised to identify differentially expressed key hub genes during BPH infestation on Bt rice plant, under laboratory conditions. Re-analysis of GSE74745 data with in-house R scripts and STRING database reveals that only 5 key hub genes, namely Os05g0176100, Os06g0683200, Os07g0208500, Os07g0252400 and Os07g0424400, belonging to cellulose synthase family, are differentially expressed and have confidence score ≥0.9 among themselves.

In this work the thermoelectric generator (TEG) based on catalytic combustion already developed in our lab has been further investigated and improved. The system made of two thermoelectric (TE) modules coupled with a catalytic combustor has been used in this work to obtain higher overall efficiency by adding hydrogen to the fuel mixture. Since implementation of hydrogen as a fuel has shown low and stable combustion temperature in literature, it is expected to achieve good overall efficiency of TEG.
