The intellectual development of 105 children with congenital hypothyroidism was assessed. In 70 children the assessment was repeated in several times. Correlations between development of intelligence and influence of biological and/or psychosocial risks were verified.

57 children with congenital, clinical diagnosed hypothyroidism were assessed with the Luria-Nebraska-Neuropsychological Battery-Children's Revision. The results of the psychomotor assessment were in conformity with the mental development. Univariate correlations between begin of therapy and mental development were not found in all groups.

For judgment of late morbidity we investigated 52 children after vaginal delivery in breech presentation age from 5 to 7 years. This concerned 27 children after assisted spontaneous labour and 25 children after manual expression according to Bracht. All the children were mature and eutrophic and without neonatal distress after delivery.

182 children born in breech presentation were investigated at the age of 5 to 6 years with regard to late morbidity after vaginal delivery and caesarean section. From case historical data, development in early childhood was assessed comparing the criteria of walking, speaking and "dryness". An attempt was made to find a relation between neonatal data and late morbidity.
