alpha2-HS glycoprotein (AHSG), also known as fetuin-A, inhibits insulin receptor autophosphorylation and tyrosine kinase activity in vitro and in vivo. Earlier we have shown that fetuin-null (KO) mice demonstrate improved insulin sensitivity and resistance to diet-induced obesity.
