The use of feathers as noninvasive physiological measurements of biomarkers in poultry research is expanding. Feather molting patterns and growth rates, however, are not well described in domestic poultry. These parameters could influence the measurement of these biomarkers.

Providing this supplement in feed leads to reduced prevalence, load, virulence, and antibiotic resistance of foodborne pathogens such as and O157:H7. These findings are worthy of further study, especially when coupled with the enhanced growth and performance observed with these products.

Previous research has demonstrated the ability of Original XPC to reduce the stress response of broilers during heat stress. Three trials were conducted to evaluate the effects of adding Original XPC to the feed or AviCare to the water on stress susceptibility of broiler chickens.

Historically, antibiotics have been used to aid in the alleviation of the impacts of stressful situations, and alternatives to antibiotics related to reducing stress are being researched. This study consisted of three rearing trials and had two objectives: (1) Investigate the effects of common U.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA study was conducted to evaluate the molecular and cellular immunomodulatory effects of a fermentation product (Original XPC, Diamond V) in broilers. Our lab has previously demonstrated that broilers fed XPC generate faster and stronger antigen-specific humoral immune responses to Newcastle disease virus (NDV) vaccination. This study aims at investigating the mechanism behind this increased immunocompetence.
