Preparation and characterization of novel poly (lactic acid)/calcium oxide nanocomposites by electrospinning as a potential bone tissue scaffold.

Calcium oxide nanoparticles (n-CaO) ca. 22 nm were obtained from eggshell waste. The n-CaO was incorporated into the PLA matrix in 10 and 20 wt% of filler content by electrospinning process to get PLA/n-CaO fibers with homogenous morphology and diameter as a potential use in scaffold for bone tissue regeneration.
