The study investigates parental expectations about potential school-related issues for their children due to homeschooling during the Covid-19 lockdown in Germany in 2020.
It employs a nonlinear regression approach to analyze how factors like children's reading skills and parental occupational status influence these expectations.
Results indicate that parents of children with lower reading abilities and lower occupational status were more likely to anticipate future school problems, and that parental concerns about Covid-19 were linked to heightened expectations of difficulties.
