CS-iCCA, A New Clinically Based Staging System for Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma: Establishment and External Validation.

Introduction: Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) is a primary liver malignancy with poor prognosis. Current prognostic methods are most accurate for patients with surgically resectable disease. However, a significant proportion of patients with iCCA are not surgical candidates.

BACKGROUND Acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP) is a rare obstetric emergency resulting from microvesicular infiltration of the liver by fat, leading to liver failure. It usually presents at 36 weeks of gestation, and risk factors include twin pregnancy and low BMI. The presentation of AFLP is nonspecific, requiring a high index of suspicion.

BACKGROUND Acute lower gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) is often associated with favorable outcomes. It is readily diagnosed and managed with colonoscopy, or may resolve spontaneously. Rarely, extra-colonic sources of bleeding may masquerade as lower GIB, posing a diagnostic challenge and potentially lead to harm if there are therapeutic delays.
