Fat-forming solitary fibrous tumors arising from the kidney are extremely rare, with only few cases reported so far. We report the case of a 49-year-old patient investigated for lumbar pain and diagnosed preoperatively with a large retroperitoneal tumor destroying the right kidney. The patient was submitted to surgery, the tumor being resected en bloc with right nephrectomy.

The role of arthroscopic surgery for the treatment of various orthopedic pathologies has greatly improved during the last years. Retinal vein occlusion (RVO) is the second most common retinal vein disease with significant visual loss via thrombus or compression of vein wall. Thrombophilia is the predisposition to vascular thrombosis with the existence of genetic defect that leads to blood hypercoagulability. This report describes the case of a 55 year old male patient, with an active life who presented himself at the emergency room with acute visual lose, insidious and progressive visual field constriction, without any known history of neurological or vascular diseases.

OVD's are pseudoplastic fluids used in anterior segment surgery, their correct use decrease the incidence of complications. Arshinoff classified OVD's according to their properties and described optimal techniques for their use. The three classes are represented by viscoadaptive, cohesinve and dispersive OVD's, used in different steps of the surgery and their behavior is influenced by operating parameters.

Widening of the upper jaw by undoing the median suture is a relatively common clinical procedure and the histological studies on sutural tissues, both immediately after disjunction and post disjunction are relatively rare. The present research aims to study cellular changes caused after undoing the median maxillary suture, on a strain of common rabbit breed, in an attempt to prove that the purpose of this therapeutic technique is obtaining neoformed osseous tissue, as a guarantee of the stability of orthodontic treatment results. Of course, changes in rabbit desmale tissues cannot be fully assimilated to the human ones.
