Article Synopsis
  • The study examined the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) as a distraction technique to reduce anxiety and pain in children undergoing buccal infiltration anesthesia during dental procedures.
  • Pediatric patients aged 6 to 12 were divided into a test group that used VR goggles while watching a cartoon and a control group that watched the cartoon on a screen.
  • Results showed that the test group experienced higher heart rates during anesthesia administration, and factors like age and gender influenced pain levels, indicating that younger and female subjects tended to report more pain regardless of the distraction method used.
